The Amazing Spider-Man Tobey and Dunst ?

Have you seen SM3, everyone involved professionalism was called into question, so much so that they rebooted a 2.5 billion dollar franchise? And even fired the ones who DIDN'T say or admitted that SM3 was utter crap. No, I can't fault anyone for calling that film what it is.

So you think the people who made SM3 actually set out to make a crap film? Seriously?

Maybe you can say Dunst was noble for telling the truth. But being noble and honest in hollywood won't get you anywhere.

And Dunst clearly thought Spider-Man was beneath her. Even though it made her borderline A-List. Well, now she's ****ed so she should of been grateful and done her job like a professional.

Yeah, they hired Sam Raimi back, didn't they?

What was so hilarious was Kirsten calling SM3 crap, and Sony still had to pay her millions upon millions of dollars. Yeah, she didn't get anywhere at all. I wish I couldn't get anywhere.

Oh snap, so that's what's bothering you all. Wittle Kirsten bewittled yur bewuvid Spiwa-Man, ahhhh...boo-freakin' hoo. Point is, she was right.

Yeah, and I guess Raimi and Maguire is ****ed too, they got fired at the same time. Spider-Man films were becoming beneath a lot of people (definitely for me), you can hear that on this very board, and the reason there is now BUZZ surrounding the reboot (no one visited these boards after SM3, only to slam it) hmm...I wonder why? :hehe:

You dudes seem more concerned than they do, they walked away MILLIONS, who cares.

Anyone heard anything on how they might have reacted to this ? This was Tobeys money maker if I am not mistaken.

tobey issues a statement saying that he was fine with it. I mean he is getting Oscar buzz for his last movie (Brothers) and is doing well financially. He has his own production company, a young family, and may start a new franchise as Bilbo or in Robotech if he wants to. He is fine. HE can go back to being a critically acclaimed character actor like he was before Spidey and pick up another movie star franchise if he wants.

Dunst on the other hand? She might be in trouble. Indeed.

No, Dunst's career is dead. She ain't going anywhere. She'll soon spend all that money on coke.

Huh? I'm HAPPY for the reboot. This has nothing to do with me liking the Spidey films.

It has to do with Dunst being an unprofessional ***** who can't act.

Honestly Im pretty happy they're gone. Tobey was going to get paid 50 million to act like a wooden plank...and Kirsten was going to get anywhere from 10-15 million to scream, touch Peter's face in awkward ways, and whisper inaudibly through out 90% of the movie.

It was wasted money.

After enduring these Spidey films for damn-near a decade I might just join her for a snort.

If being an unprofessional ***** means calling Sam Raimi & Co. out on making crap Spider-Man films, then I'm glad she was unprofessional. If only someone at Sony would have done what she did during the first film, maybe the reboot would have started earlier.

Can i see this actual quote of Dunst calling Spider-Man 3 "crap" or anything bad? I don't recall that at all and I did a search on google and couldn't find anything. It is starting to smell like bollocks, I do think.

No Dunst is pretty much the only one that's screwed.

Tobey won't be getting 50 million dollars for doing nearly nothing, if that ain't screwed, I don't know what is. Who do you think is stupid enough to pay him that kind of money, without the name Spider-Man.

As many people have already said, Tobey is getting tons of praise for his performance in "Brothers". He doesn't need Spider-Man to keep his career going. When was the last time Dunst got praise for a role?

Who the hell is going to care about Brothers a year or two from now, no one? Tobey is back to doing small movies that don't make money and is never talked about by movie-goers. If anything, his Brothers performance will just prove how weak his performance was in Spider-Man, and that he should have been let go after the first film. News Flash: no one cares about Tobey and Kirsten films before or after Spider-Man. Just like I don't care about Nolan, Bale or Heath Ledger before or after Batman.

Kirsten career spans 20 years, that's more than most young folks in Hollywood could ever dream. I personally don't care what she or Tobey does next after Spider-Man. I'm looking forward to the next chapter, hopefully, a better chapter.

Count the millions that he doesn't deserve...like Sam Raimi.

Oh yes, because how much money a movie makes shows how great it is :whatever:. Spider-Man 3 made $885,430,303 worldwide. Thats #15 of all time.

News Flash: not everyone has the same opinion as you

Who said that? I'm just saying he's back to doing small films that don't make money and movie-goers won't be talking about, like he did before Spider-Man. Personally, I think that's where he should have stayed, it's where is better work is.

Great, I've hit a nerve. You gonna cry?

Since you seemed to equate Tobey not doing larger pictures to being screwed, it sounded like you were implying that revenue determined how good a movie is. But I guess you weren't.

What? I'm neither a fan of Tobey or Dunst. I was simply stating that there are people who do care what Tobey does before and after Spider-Man and thus you can't just make an absolute statement like that.

And when McGuire will be getting nominations for his role in Brothers, I'm sure movie goers will be talking about him.

Exactly. The Golden Globes are tonight and he's been nominated for best actor in a drama. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an Oscar nomination also.

Yeah, they'll be saying, so who's gonna be the new Spider-Man?

Tobey is a great actor who can find other roles. Dunst well she will noly be able to star in Horror films or exploitation action movies.

Tobey... a true pro.
I agree, I've always liked Tobey, I feel the man is a good actor, but if things were tweaked I think he could have gone further as Pete. Maybe I'm wrong? I dunno, but while I miss him, I'm excited to see a new direction take place. It's just great to hear that he didn't have a sour reaction. :)
