Tom Hiddleston: Loki Redux - Part 2

Hiddleston delivered these lines like a gifted Shakespearian actor.

Even Shakespeare had moments of hilarity. But Tom's performance here was superb. No campiness here. Just visions of grandeur. :word:

Here's the thing about camp, guys, it's not an objective thing. You have to 'get it' as such for it to be campy - to you. You can debate this till the cows come home, but in the end it all boils down to a matter of opinion.

Boom! Everybody's right. :word:

Not sure if it got posted in here, but about the last 30 seconds of this interview, Chris Evans talks a bit about Hiddleston's appearance at SDCC:

http://collider.com/chris-evans-captain-america-2-sequel-interview/

Transcript of the last bit (if anyone has issues watching the vid):
Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub: I have to tell you, one of my favorite things of Comic Con this year and one my favorite things I've ever seen at Comic Con, Hiddleston coming out as Loki on stage.

Evans: Oh yeah

'Frosty': What was your reaction?

Evans: Those fanboys ate it up. I was shocked! I was like 'Tom! Going the extra mile, good work!' Well they ate it up and I mean he's, he was born to play that character, he does it so well. He wrote that whole thing, I mean that was just him, that was his creation. I mean he's... we're so lucky to have him as a part of this world.

Interesting little bit from Tom, trying not to reveal anything (those pesky Marvel snipers) but apparently may have (inadvertently) given a double meaning to something he says:

His bit starts at about the 1:12-13 mark

I made a prediction in the last Loki thread about this. I think I may have nailed it. :woot:

I think everyone predicted that voyzovrezon :P

He'll have some alternate motive through out the movie

like he's "riding Malekith's coattails"

I like campy. I just think he was underwhelming.

Now this...this is just weird

lol Someone posted it on the site that shall not be named. I thought some people would have gotten a kick out of it. I personally feel out of my seat laughing (Literally) when I first saw it.

but like, I don't know how to put at it, I look at it and go...what? lol

Yes, it's because Loki and Spongebob are two things that do not go well together. Sorry but I'm just not a fan of that show, no offense to the voice talent. I just thought and still think it's a Ren & Stimpy knockoff riding on the coattails of John Kricfalusi's truly original, strange, random animated creation. There's no real originality to the show in my opinion.

Reflections on his Comic Con appearance, what Loki would be reading & thoughts on his relationship with Frigga

on uniting with Thor, on how embracing some aspects of the mythology might differ this time around, how he keeps the Loki persona from seeping into his real life, and favorite Disneyland ride

Edit: Oh, and how can I forget, him singing "Bare Necessities"

Would be great to see more of their interaction in the second movie. It's the relationship which seems to ground Loki the most.
