Tom Welling as Superman

Hmmm, something smells fishy. When Routh has nearly twice as many votes as the legendary Reeve, you know something weird is going on.

based on the comments below the poll I'd say the cattle from a certain actors fan board were blitzing the poll, but I'm sure once all of the Welling and Smallville sites pick up on this, he'll go back way ahead. The real shame of it is neither of them really even come close to Chris, although Tom should be second, followed by George Reeves, Dean Cain, and then George Lazenby err Ruth

I posted these cropped shots in the Drooling Thread, but they seem extremely fitting for this thread as well.

They are from Odyssey - but aside from being pictures of Clark alive and well (which seriously isn't exactly a spoiler), nothing spoilery is revealed.

'Nuff said! :supes:

He is superman!!!! NUFF SAID

The sad thing is if Welling doesn't get the part for a Superman movie, there will be yet another candidate to enter the fray.

Yea i voted tom yesterday morning. When i posted tom/chris were in the lead with a bunch of votes, dean had a few and george/routh had nothing. But then i read later in the day routh had more votes and i was like ah man, but good to hear welling is ahead again.

George Reeves and Christopher Reeve are the GREATEST :supes: of ALL-Time PERIOD.
Dean Cain was Serviceable, Brandon Routh very forgettable and Tom Welling the next greatest :supes: of ALL-Time that never WAS. :csad:

:wow: DAMN JUST LOOK AT HIM!!! ARE YOU F'EN KIDDING ME???

WARNER BROTHERS WTF??? :cmad:

Alright..Let's assume Warner hires Tom to play Superman in the reboot. How should they do it?...
-Ignore Smallville background (ie-the other cast members and storylines.
-Use Smallville as the setup for the movie. Basically, a movie version of the show
-Just have Tom as Supes but just not discuss his past in Smallville.

Just have Tom as Supes but just not discuss his past in Smallville.
Fans of the new film can go and purchase Smallville on DvD to discover his wacky past.

The BR fans from BR.C have their own petition and promotions going on too. They're trying to get WB to keep Routh for the reboot. The moment they heard about the poll they flocked to get Brandon's % up. On a poll on a site like usa today's that's a pretty big world stage. Whether they realize it or not, they are greatly out numbered by Welling supporters. It has been proven time and time again that Welling has the most support, he keeps winning poll after poll after poll. It is time for the WB to realize that he's the best choice.

BTW all, I contacted Brad Meltzer and Gail Simone about the petition and our promotions. Gail Simone said she likes Tom, but doesn't do blogging, i asked her to sign the petition if she was interested. No reply from Meltzer yet.

Oh look, another poll. [checks watch] Yeah, I guess it was about time to start up again, but how many times do they need to sample the waters? I mean, weren't the first few hundred "Who's your favorite?" tests enough? :p

[Pat waves to Jack.] Missed ya, hon. ;)

From "Why I love Superman. A best-selling novelist on why he adores the Man of Steel."

".....The best part of the story has never been the Superman part. It's the Clark Kent part: the idea that all of us are so plain, so ordinary, but we know what it's like to want to rip open our shirts and do something to better the world."

This guy GETS it.

Hello Pat. Nice to see you again. :)

Jack, we need some more pizza.

Routh's % is dropping fast. He had about 31% at some point and now it's at 26%.

I don't understand for the life of me why Tom Welling wouldn't be running over old ladies to get this part. I mean it's such an honor to even be considered a perfect candidate for superman & he's pissing it away on Smallville. Ya know, he doesn't mind doing Smallville for 8 years even though it's gone downhill but he won't play Superman in a movie that could be epic & launch a movie career. I love Welling I really do but I'll never understand how that dudes mind works.

Steve

Also just wanted to add to anyone out there who doesn't like Welling because

A) His nostrals are to wide :whatever:

OR

B) His lips are to big

These arguements I've heared time & time again. Is that the best you guys can come up with as to why he isn't a good candidate as Superman?. I mean seriously, it's weak. Just wanted to throw that out there

well considering that he's never officially turned the role down, I'm not sure you can say that you know how his mind works.

I never said I know how his mind works I said I can't understand how his mind works. I just see it at the moment that at some point WB had to have approached him at some point either before SR or before JLA was supposed to be starting about playing superman & since he didn't play Superman in SR or was never announced in the failed JAL project it leaves me to thinking that he must have turned down those roles. Like I said I don't presume that I know what he's thinking, this is just my assumption.

You mean tip OF an iceberg? :cwink:, no, but I don't really know what that means anyway. So have fun with that.
