Torchwood

The mistake that Torchwood made was to filter out all of Jacks future standards on sex (being that all is game as long as it has a pulse) on to the other characters that are form the year 2007/8. Which I think is stupid considering humans in the 21st century do not share the ideas that Jack does. Which is why we hate all the over the top sex as it is not really realistic.

Do we really need the close-ups of Jack and Ianto Kissing??? The episode was going so well up untill that point.....

I just thought it was random really I was like ok..........:whatever: Why kissing all of a sudden lol.

This episode was ok, so Tosh has seen this guy 4 times already so 4 years, so how long has she been apart of Torchwood for? I forgot....

I didn't mind Jack and Ianto kissing. RTD has at least established that they're attracted to each other and dating and all that now, as opposed to last season when everyone was making out for no apparent reason. Now Jack and Ianto are just like any other couple.

But are they a couple? I thought Jack was like in love with Gwen and like she was like im getting married and his face was like no no I love you.

So I don't know....

Nah, Jack asked Ianto out and everything. He may be attracted to Gwen, but he's actually in a relationship with Ianto now.

I think Ianto's character will be happier now he is more than just jacks butt monkey.

Yeah, Ianto finally seems to have a role beyond fetching coffee and ****ing Jack.

Hey dont forget he also kept a cyberwoman alive who went on to murder quite a few people and punched Owen.

So the second episode of Torchwood was a bit worse IMO. T1000 arms.....:whatever:

Oh just plain bad

It was pretty stupid. The human element was decent, though. The main characters continue to not be morally reprehensible, vapid excuses for human beings this season, too. Yay for that. :)

Indeed the the human side is good even if it's coming from one time guest stars.

Well, we've got Jack being more tender with Ianto, too. It looks like Gwen's fiance might finally man up and leave that ho next episode, too.

I'm late, but I finally caught the first two episodes. I have notes.

1. RTD, when you crossover Torchwood and Doctor Who, please pay attention to how you do Jack's entrances/exits on each show. It's bad enough the season 1 finale of Torchwood implied the TARDIS landed in their base and picked Jack up (followed by a Who episode of Jack running outside and latching on). But now? Now you've ended an episode of Who with Jack returning to Torchwood during the day (no more than a week after leaving), and began Torchwood with Jack popping up at night after disappearing for god-only-knows-how-long!

2. Owen: "Let's all have sex."
I think in an interview, RTD once said he doesn't listen to the complaints and pleas of fans over the internet. The fact that Owen (minutes before Cardiff might explode) just randomly said he wanted to F everyone in the room is just... pathetic. And this is an episode after Owen gets an iota of characterization by telling Tosh get wants a proper girlfriend.

3. Well, at least Gwen's finally fulfilling her role as "the one with a heart."

4. Are we just randomly flipping coins each episode, when it comes to Tosh & Owen's sexualities?

5. Since when did Gwen and Jack have a thing? Sure, they've always been physically attracted to one another, but there was no relationship "thing" going on, as was implied when Gwen said she was engaged to Rhys.

6. John being attracted to a dog? Funny. That odd, ill-defined sexuality thing is always fun, when used in small doses. You know, when it's unique for one or two characters. Not the whole cast.

Agreed on #6 wholeheartedly. This season seems to be toning it down a bit, though.

Regarding #2: It was pretty cool that he kind of bonded with Tosh over his own experience with loving a time-lost person who ultimately has to leave. That was easily the best Owen episode of last season, and I'm glad it was referenced again, let alone used in such a poignant way.

I am with you on those two, its like they change there mind all the time about sexualities

And I am like wtf Jack loves Gwen? there was no sign of that at all during the first season so why does he love her of all oa sudden

The really awkward thing is, as soon as Jack & Gwen had their weird moment, Jack went off and asked Ianto for a date. God, I hope we don't get a soap opera scenario, where Jack and Gwen will leave their respective men for one another.

True, she does. But I hope she doesn't hook up with Jack.

That would be good that man needs to just get away from her.

1. Agree 100%
2. He should die
3. Meh not in my head
4. Yes
5. Never and it sucks what they are trying to do
6. Only one out of this list I find OK

And don't forget that Ianto loved his Cyberman-converted girlfriend....until Jack killed her, which apparently turned Ianto on to Jack.

But seriously, it's obvious that RTD holds the opinion that bisexuality is a "more advanced" form of human relationship, and so he works this into as many storylines as he can. That's his prerogative of course, but the idea that five random people all working together in 2007 Cardiff all happen to have bisexual tendencies is a bit of a heavy-handed stretch just to make a point.

Which he also carries over into DR WHO now too. With the xmas special - the little red dude....cyborg right etc....they can even marry now.

^ Yeah, RTD is getting less and less subtle as time goes on, that's for sure.
