Torchwood

4,000 years in the future? America still exists 4,000 years into the future?!

Fraid not, there were some contradictions with his accent, it's either supposed to be an amalgam accent, that magically comes out American or an accent Jack acquired whilst posing as some American army dude who was working for the British army during ww2.:o

Torchwood is set in the present though, right?

Yep, well give or take a few months. :o

So, one season of Torchwood has how many episodes?

13

Ianto is the 'cover story' for the secret organisation. You see how he got the job in a couple of episodes time. His girlfriend was made a half human/half machine , he tried to keep her alive in the torchwood basement but the evil cybernetic side took control and jack shot her in the head.

Jack is omnisexual- he will have sex with any lifeform as long as it can consent presumably.

Iantos girlfriend Lisa

So that episode that will reveal much of Ianto's role and how he got the job will be shown in the US in a few weeks' time? So this is the flashback episode you were talking about earlier? I think Jack killed the cyberwoman because he wants Ianto for himself.

Haha! Jack doesn't discriminate. I am also not sure of Jack's origin. I get the impression that he came from another time?

Captain Jacks a Time Agent from the distant future although he has been living in earths past on and off for the last 100 or so years.

His Immortal and his history hasn't fully been fleshed out yet. Captain John played by James Masters is Another Time Agent who was Captain Jacks ex lover and now his current enemy who seems to know alot about Jacks past.

My least fav character - Ianto's

It used to be Owen but since he died I feel that is the perfect punishment for him being a dick in the first season.

pretty much yes on all counts! :woot:

jack is from the future, you will see his home planet in an episode called 'adam'. He used to be a time agent, which beyond the ability to time travel is pretty vague.

I would like to see a future Jack story arc.

That was the original idea given in Dr. Who (a no 'taboo' philosophy in the future will completely negate innate sexuality apparently...:whatever:) but as presented in Torchwood Jack definitely seems to have a preference for the gents.

As a matter of fact, I don't think they've really shown him involved with anyone but other men (he flirts with the ladies, but that's been about it)

You like Gwen more than Ianto?

I think Captain Jacks becoming alot more like John Barrowman. Barrowmans personality is coming through more than in the early days.

Which is why we need a musical episode.

A musical episode would be AWESOME, can't wait to see singing wievel's.

Crossover into Doctor Who? When? I've not seen Doctor Who but I've seen clips of it when I watch Torchwood and it looks like something I'd be into.
At the end of Torchwood series one Captain Jack heard the T.A.R.D.I.S and ran off leaving the rest of the team. That plot line was then followed up in the last 3 episodes of the last series of Doctor Who when he travels with The Doctor and Martha Jones to the end of time and they all fight the Doctors arch Rival The Mater who has taken over the earth. Jack is suppose to be in the next series of Doctor Who so i would think the ending of this Torchwood series would be somthing simillar to last seasons ending.

could someone please explain to me how in the hell jack was looking for the right doctor to fix him back in victorain times when he didn't meet him until wwii, and also the fact that unless it happens in the new series jack and the doc never both went to that time frame

The magic of time travel!

When Jack first met the Doctor, Jack himself had a time-ship that he used to travel back to WWII. Jack's ship got blown up, and he ended up hitching a ride aboard the Doctor's TARDIS for a few episodes. At the end of the 2005 series/season, the Doctor left Jack stranded in the year 200,300. Jack then used the thingy on his wrist to try to make it back to the early 21st century (where he knew Rose lived, and where he'd find the Doctor again). Instead of the year 2006, Jack accidentally ended up in 1890 or so. Jack then had to live out the duration of the 20th century, which included him living through WWII all over again.

that works for me

Jack basically fills in all the gaps at the beginning of "Utopia."

season finale spoilers
Gray Jacks brother is alive and he wants to cause his big brother some trouble

Thing is it seems a short period of time between The Parting of the Ways and Start of Torchwood series for Jack to live a century??.....

Anybody seen the last episode of Season 2 yet, saw it yesterday night. All I say since some of you might not have seen it yet, is that it made me cry.

Not yet I will catch up on it soon

Cry in what way? Cry as in "oh no, I totally didn't want that to happen," or cry as in "why? Why have I wasted so much time on this show?"
