Torchwood

I feel weird for liking the Lauren Cooper sketch, because one of them made me geek out so badly. It was the one where she got in a fight with a teacher who was testing her on the periodic table of elements. He asked her what "M i" was, her reply was "M. I. bovvered?" and my immediate reaction was "that was probably justified. I don't think there's an M i."

I watch BBC America only if they have Top Gear, Dr. Who, or Torchwood episodes I want to see again. And occasionally the news.
I love Top Gear its so awesome. Do they actully air the episodes of Top Gear when they visit the US because they are pretty insulting. If you have seen Jeremey Clarkson before it won't mean much but to a casual viewer they might take its seriously or personal.

My favourite episode was the one where they where driving through the deep south and had to write on each others cars. They put I love man love, Hillary for president, ect or each others cars and then these hicks when nuts at them :funny:
Forgot about watching Python. And forgot that they aired Primeval (but I haven't watched it on BBC America).

Plus, PBS airs BBC America news and just finished Eccelston's run as the Doctor. Which is even less reason for me to watch BBCA.

I've never actully sat through a whole episode of Monty Python its not really my thing.

Peep Show is so much better than Mitchell and Webb

Ive seen the Class Trip - "are you a sunbeam for Jesus?"

the French Class and I saw the sketch with David Tennant on YouTube - "Do you fancy Billie Piper?"

It is, but I don't think it's ever aired in the US. If it has, I've never caught it. I had to watch Peep Show on Youtube.

...not that I'm endorsing that, and I'm certainly not providing any links.

God, that episode had me crying it was so funny. And scary. Half my family is from the south and that area still scares the **** out of me. Those guys are either idiots or have big balls (or both) to do what they did in Alabama.

When Top Gear first aired in the US on The Learning Channel (or Discovery), they did some editing out of their teasing of the US. In fact, they actually reshot their studio stuff and would always put up a conversion of pounds to dollars.

On BBC America, I don't think there's any of that. The only editing they do is cut out little bits of segments (like the news) to fit in the time slots (because commercials are aired within the episodes).

I perfer to watch the original broadcasts. I usually see an episode shortly after it airs in the UK. Although I did just watch the series 12 finale yesterday (the Vietnam trip).

On a similar note, have any thoughts on Top Gear Australia?

Sorry about that. I was thinking of Paul Blackthorne even though I new it was Mann who said it. (Watched them in the Dresden Files.)

What??? I'm the only one to watch "Torchwood: Children of Earth" lastnight?

My DVR Recorded it but I still need to watch the rest of Season 2 before I watch Children of Earth.

caught Day One last night...good stuff...but what is that little office there in London?? and Gwen looked quasi attractive last night

Ive only seen 2 or 3 of the Lauren sketches...the Field Trip one, the one with David Tennant, and the final one where she went over a waterfall

They played a "History of Torchwood" type show before Children of Earth came on that gave a summary of everything that's happend up till now. It was a big help, I'd forgotten alot of what's happend over the last two seasons.

with the old guy and the girl there on her first day...was it just a Ministry of Defence office or something?? looked kinda dingy

Something like that. I didn't catch the name of the place.

I've got a feeling that new girl is going to be around after this is all over.

Woohoo! The Torchwood thread's been taken over by Americans!

I just watched Day One last night, too. Nice red herring with that Rupesh guy. Also, I'm getting a little tired of Jack constantly dieing.

Day One,eh?

Oh man, are you guys in for one hell of a ride. :D

That's his schtick, though.

I know Jack is always going to die and come back, but I'm getting a little tired of the music cutting out and the people who edit these episodes acting like it's important. It's like seeing someone get kicked in the skin by a small child, then hearing music from The Godfather.

The scene where they detected the bomb inside of him was a little annoying. Gwen and Ianto were clinging on to him the entire time like "We won't leave you!" The scene is treated like it's this huge dramatic moment where Jack might actually die, but dollars to dimes he'll be back by Day Three.

Oh, yeah, I agree about that. "Oh noes, Jack's died again!" should be replaced with, "Oh, Jack's died again? Whatever."
