Torn between systems, Please give opinions..

BTW they need to put out a new Twisted Metal. Black was great, but the things they could do with it this gen.
Twisted Metal for the PS3 has already been confirmed. Dont worry, its coming. IA, Black was great. That was teh game that got me to purchase a PS2

Does everyone have to be into Mario? Is that like a rule or something? I'm not saying it's a bad game, I've never said that. I've always said it's one of the best of the year. Some people just aren't fans of Nintendo. It's has nothing to do with being a "narrow-minded moron". I'm not the guy saying all Nintendo games are kiddy or whatever bull****. That's the narrow-minded moron, as well as the guy saying EVERYONE has to like Mario or they aren't as good as they are.

Well, to be honest, that's a sentiment I don't understand. If someone makes something that's totally awesome, how will not being a fan make it not worth experiencing? I'm not a fan of rock music, but I jammed out to the awesome songs in Rock Band. Because they're awesome, and sufficient levels of awesome should, theoretically overcome lack of fanship.

In order to not care about awesomeness, one would have to have a specific bias AGAINST something, not just be indifferent to it. "I'm not a fan" doesn't explain it. "I don't think it's worth $300" explains it. "I want more out of my system" explains it. But I'm not a fan of Nintendo either, and that didn't stop me from enjoying Wii Sports or Mario Galaxy one tiny little bit.

I guess for some people that would hold to be true, but I'm just not one of them. I'm not bashing Nintendo at all. I'm just not into Mario games. Period. The character, just about everything about it just doesn't do anything for me. It's just a total feeling of indifference towards all of the classic Nintendo franchises really. I just don't care.

When that day comes, expect cheers from one side, and boos from the other ;)

lol..yea most likely...I think I'm probably gonna go for the PS3...most of the games I'd want to play on 360 are multiplatform and the blue-ray player in the PS3 puts it over the edge for me since I'm a huge movie buff and I don't want to pay extra for an HD player...maybe in the future I'll spring for a 360...unless something new came out...which I hope these systems will be around for a good while before they do that. But yeah, again I appriciate all the feedback!

Yeah that's a good choice for you especially if you are going into buying a bunch of Blu Ray since it's practically beat out HD at this point.

I'm currently not into Mario myself either. I played all the way up to Mario 64, and I enjoyed every title up to and including 64. However...I got Mario'd out after that point. Mario 64 was the pinacle of Mario to me, it was fun, did free range well, all you can do from there is add features, tweak the graphics, but essentially the Mario series is blurring together for me. The gameplay is usually great tho. It's funny, I still enjoy the Legend of Zelda series, and it's basically just tweaking the formula as well, but a large part of that is Zelda gives a rich story and gives you a feeling of character growth from point A to B.

Gratz. Honestly, both systems are good choices, the fact that you just asking sparked a debate shows that ppl care about both systems. You being a movie buff just helps. Especially as reported in the format war thread by imdaly and Zenien, Wal-Mart just dropped HD DVD, so buying the HD DVD addon for the 360 isn't particually wise atm. That coupled with Netflix, Best Buy, Warner Brothers, Target, and several small buisnesses dropping HD DVD, it's pretty much been on it's death bed for months.

Go with the 360.
The best PS3 games are multi-platform anyway...

Actually, quite the opposite. 360's best are all coming to PC while PS3's are not.

Of all 360 exclusives, only Dead Rising and Ninja Gaiden 2 didn't come to PS3 or PC. Gears 1 came for PC. Gears 2 and Fable 2 will come out. Mass Effect is out for PC. BioShock came for PC and is headed to PS3. Alan Wake is confirmed for PC too.

Now on PS3 front:
Resistance 1 & 2 are not available for PC. Just like Uncharted or MGS4. LittleBigPlanet is PS3 only. Killzone 2 is PS3 only. FFXIII and FFVersus XIII are PS3 only.

And then, there are the best games that are multi:
Fallout 3
Bayonetta
Street Fighter 4
Mercenaries 2
Soul Calibur 4
GTA4
Mirror's Edge
Brothers in Arms 3

Along with Spider-man Web of Shadows, MK vs DC, Silent Hill 5...

PC's biggest exclusives: Diablo 3, StarCraft 2, Crysis Warhead
Wii's biggest exclusives: ... uh... Mad World. (Unless you want another Mario / Wario game)

I actually typed in reverse what I was thinking. I really meant ps3, no joke :)

and for Wii,
What about Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Kart, Metroid, Zelda: Twighlight Princess???

I see :woot:
As for the Wii exclusives, I was talking about the future titles (Same as PC).
On Wii, Metroid P3, Boom Blox and No More Heroes RULE! (I'm not a Brawl or Mario fan and Zelda TP is mostly a GameCube game ported to Wii).

I have Brawl and am unimpressed. Im gonna sell it next week once I finish up the adventure mode.

its fun for mult-player and the adventure mode is really cool

Im finding the adventure mode too repetitive and too long. I thought there would be voiced or some type of dialogue in the cutscenes and was disappointed to see that there wasnt. Im only going through with it to unlock all the characters. Does Sonic appear towards the end bc he's the only one I really want at this point

Thats all fine and great if you have a PC that can run those games the way they need to be run. If you have a PC that is capable of running those games then absolutely i think the PS3 is the way to go. However, if you dont, then it comes down to the games you want to play. I think the Xbox 360 as a better library of premium titles BUT, imo, the PS3 has THE best title being Metal Gear Solid 4. I say get both. Maybe not at once, but pick a system with the thought in mind that down the road you'll also get the other one, there are great reasons to own both.

You are right about Crysis but as for StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3, they are actually gonna have very low requirements as its always been Blizzard's goal to make its games available for most people and most people have old systems.

As for better library of premium titles, 360 was ahead till now but their are neck 2 neck right now.
For Gears 2, PS3 has Resistance 2. For Banjoo 3, Sony has LittleBigPlanet. For Fable 2, Sony has FFXIII. For Ninja Gaiden 2, PS3 has God of War 3. For Crackdown, PS3 has InFamous.
Plus, best exclusive of last year (BioShock), is coming to PS3 too so it's no longer exclusive. Mass Effect is in the hands of EA and they'll probably release it for both PS2 and PS3!! (Ok, PS2 part was joke but PS3 is highly likely).
So the best choice is get either of PS3 or 360 and enjoy the games.

Well, we haven't seen alot of those games so its hard to judge anything based on them. I actually thought Resistance was about as mediocre as you can possibly get so I'm not even focusing on Resistance 2, but thats for another discussion. I still feel that at this point, there are more titles worth playing on the 360 but, based on some of the titles you have listed, that could change.

I actually agree with you on that though to me, Gears was mediocre 2 so, that's why I put them together. On 360 front, the only unmatched exclusive IMO is Dead Rising which I don't care what everybody thinks about it, I LOVE that game. Heck, I bought 360 just for that!

But you are correct. Right now PS3 indeed is still a bit behind and it's biggest games aren't out yet. Who knows? There might be another Lair or Haze. (Hopefully not though).

The PS3's biggest game is out and that was MGS4. The rest to follow may be great, but I dont think anything else coming to the system will match the high quality of that title. 2009 should be good assuming God of War 3 and at least one of the planned FF games drops. Those are the ones that have the best shot at being a "MGS4" level title for the system

God thing thats just an opinion & as of now in my opinion the PS3 is lagging behind the 360 in terms of games & if I had to choose a system I would go by

A) If your going to play online with friends see how many of your friends have a specific system

B) If your buying a system just for the games look at whats out now & whats to come (Star Ocean) & decide on that

yeah it is just my opinion. Looking at the release schedule for both systems, I dont see anything worth getting too excited about on either system. Theres nothing Im really anticipating or pumped for. But thats just me

This Holiday Season should be fun but I agree & as of now I have a 360 & Wii but I have every intention of getting a PS3 when Final Fantasy does actually come out. I was going to get one for Star Ocean next year but we all know how that turned out :oldrazz:

Well, i feel that there wont be another game this generation that'll match MGS4, for either system. Its funny, after i completed MGS4 i had this overwhelming since of sadness as i realized that im probably not gonna have another experience like that for a long, long time...actually thats not funny, thats really sad :csad:
