there´s still one thing that bothers me:

Why did Flynn have to die? :csad: I say Flynn cause If i say which Flynn people are gonna open this and be spoiled and then whine about it.

Here's an observation I made on that.
Identity discs contain everything about programs and users on the Grid. Kevin Flynn's identity disc was in the portal rather than in the epicentre of the explosion, returning Sam before the explosion hit.

Remember Sam back in the real world unhooking a portable drive after the "Download Complete" message appeared?

What if Sam brought more back with him than just Quorra... :cwink:

To me Avatar was basically a representation of Pocahontas with giant blue creatures and stunning visual effects. Tron Legacy actually had an emotional story and spectacular visual effects . I like Tron so much more because the themes were much strong and didn't just focus on just the love story between Sam & Quorra although was featured the main focus was on FATHER & SONS.

Which I thought Bridges played very well as Kevin Flynn he was a father striving to create perfection and order and basically Clu was just following Kevin's original idea. But when Flynn and Tron deviated of course with the ISO. Clu felt betrayed by Flynn who he saw as his father and rebelled against him.

Then you have Sam who's feels abandon by his father who been missing for twenty years only to discover he's trapped within the very world he created and refuses to fight fearing Clu would complete his main primary objective in our world. And at some point Kevin realizes that what he always wanted in wasn't in the digital world but right in front of him the whole time his beloved son and he wanted to pass on his LEGACY to him which does

That's a good catch! So it is true that in a way
Kevin has three kids in a non-traditional sense basically.

I think you're right about that. I'm also eager to learn
the fate of Tron.

Can we talk about how badass Rinzler was in this? those scenes with him was insane :wow:
It was the Darth Maul of this decade imo

I loved the music in Tron Legacy especially the Daft Punk's "Derezzed" theme :wow::woot:

My favorites were these

So im going to see this tomorrow what do you guys that have seen it recommend, just Imax or Imax 3D with glory of glasses?

Im thinking that all IMAX showings are in 3D but I may be wrong. If you have to choose, watch it in 3D.

Doe's anyone else think that the relationship between Sam and Quorra sort of comes off as incestish?

Oh yeah, so was I the only one who had NO IDEA that Cillian Murphy was in this movie?

Anyone else think that was a lead-in to a possible sequel, given who he played?

I'm sure he's alive,The purity of the water restored him, just like in the first film

I love all the homages in this film to the first film. Again I feel this sequel really does build on what made the first film a cult classic . I can't wait to own this on Blu-ray next year hopefully they'll also they re-released the original film on blu-ray , I already own the 2-disc dvd of Tron (20th Anniversary Collector's Edition)

It's kinda ironic actually Cillian Murphy who was The Scarecrow in Batman Begins plays Edward Dillinger jr in this film. While David Warner played his father Edward Dillinger Sr. in the original, for those of you who didn't know Warner was the voice of Ra's al Ghul in Batman : The Animated Series.

Was he really? That's funny. Didn't know that. Love David Warner. Hopefully if they do Tron 3, we'll see him again.

i don't think so. to be honest, i was kind of surprised there wasn't any sort of romantic angle between Sam and Quorra. you could tell there was attraction, but Sam didn't make a move. i guess they wanted to focus more on the father & son relationship.

perhaps in the third it will already be established that they are a couple. in fact, lots of potential for a great third movie.

I had no clue! I didnt even notice him the first time I saw him either.

Hopefully, he'll have a bigger role to play in any potential future media.

Also, second time I noticed some hidden Mickey's. The camera that Sam disable's at Encom is shaped with one large ball, with two smaller one's on top. Also, the fireworks at the Lightcycle arena sometime's formed into Mickey's.

Wait so Cillian Murphy was that developer in the ENCOM board meeting? I couldn't even tell that was him.

The Clu CG face was a mixed bag. I didn't like it when it was used on young Flynn in the real world. At times it was OK in the Grid. Other times not so great.

Nearly three decades CG has been used on film and it's still not perfected really. Its still flawed.

Just got back from IMAX, and i loved the film. Had lower expectations, and the result is great.

8.5/10

PS: 1.5 points just for Olivia Wilde

My verdict on Tron Legacy:

I liked it. It's not perfect (Olivia Wilde should have been used more, pacing is off) but it was entertaining enough. It does NOT deserve the negative/mixed reviews it got, and I can bet it'll get a cult following.

8/10

Looks like this seems to be another movie in which audiences are really, really enjoying whereas some critics just see it as 101 Philosophy + CGI extravaganza.

To them I say, have you seen the first Tron? In many regards thats what made me love the first Tron so much. Critics were also complaining that the actors in Legacy were being to "serious" in their roles?

Are they joking do they want them to start doing an Irish gig?

Hows the 3D by the way to those who have seen it? Is it Avatar level?

Free tickets, oh yeah!

Olivia Wilde was amazing, Garrett Hedlund was cool and Michael Sheen was jst downright hilarious .

Good comparison. Especially given that he had like no lines in the movie and no development.

Like I said earlier, the script for the movie had issues and without 3D, this is probably a 3/5 movie.

Saw this yesterday and loved it.A visual feast.I never saw the original but I will soon.I have to say I think the shortcomings of the story have been a bit overblown.I really loved all the characters in the movie.Thinking back on the movie there was no better title then legacy since that's what the whole movie is about.I thought the themes in the movie weren't subtle but great. Also for a first time director Joseph Kosinski really did a great job.Soundtrack of course was spectacular.Got to pick that up and the Blu Ray when it comes out!

well In a sense its a good comparison but its better than Darth Maul becuase
Tron Lives! lol
