I think bringing Two-Face back would be a great idea for many reasons. The major one simply being that there's much more potential for Two-Face in this version of the Batman universe. He had roughly only 15 minutes of screen time as Two-Face in the last film, so it wouldn't feel like villain overkill to bring him back.

Another reason it'd be a good thing is because according to both David Goyer and Aaron Eckhart, the Joker was supposed to be back in the third film however now that could be tricky. They need to weigh their options to figure out if a recast Joker or more Two-Face is the right way to go. I think in the end more Harvey is the best option.

I've actually been thinking about how to bring Harvey back after Dark Knight, and it'd really be quite simple. All it would take would be an explanation that the funeral we see for Harvey Dent is simply staged for the public to give them closure, and in a sense to commemorate the death of Harvey as we knew him. Two-Face could have been out cold after the fall, and put into secret seclusion in Arkham. Stage a breakout and there you go.

I know that Riddler is a heavy favorite for the film, and I want to see him as well. He's one of my favorites, but I don't think that he's a film-carrying villain. He'd best serve playing the same kind of role that the Scarecrow played in Batman Begins, while Two-Face could have the bigger R'as al Ghul part.

What the script says means nothing, and I fail to see how it would harm the brilliance of The Dark Knight. The ending would still be Batman and Gordon making a choice to protect the image of Harvey Dent at any cost. Also, Batman never checks a pulse. There's no clear proof that Dent is dead aside from the funeral which could be staged. I know it wasn't the original plan, but no one planned on Heath Ledger dying either.

The point I'm making is that they clearly planned to have one of the big two Batman villains (Joker) in the third film, so they felt safe enough to kill the other one (Two-Face). Now that Heath Ledger is dead, they need to decide whether recasting the Joker is a better idea than bringing Harvey back. But they need one of the two for film three because you can't follow a Joker/Two-Face film with just the Riddler and Catwoman, or any other combination of Bat-villains. It'd be like Aerosmith openiing for Nickelback.

In an interview some while back, Eckhart asked Nolan if Two-Face was dead or not. Nolan said there was no chance he was alive. Could it be a lie? Sure. Could it be a trick? It's possible. But until there is good evidence or a good source that says otherwise, I'm goin' with him being dead.

Don't forget, it was MTV who brought up the original Cher as Catwoman rumors, too.

hmm between Beckinsale and Jolie, i'd go with Jolie. she's just more talented. the problem with her as of late is that she's stuck doing certain kind of roles. maybe motherhood had rubbed the edge off of her, but Christ knows she needs some sort of refreshing role like what she had with Girl Interrupted. you know something less weepy or hardcore but more...... wacky, crazy.... homicidal?

I think Eckhart's laugh, if it means anything, means this: He knows Nolan is toying with the idea of returning to Two-Face.

Other than that, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Honestly, the best way to think about the next movie is not to get your hopes up about anything... The villains, the title, the storyline, the characters, the quality- anything.

That way, we'll feel better and more level-headed about each piece of information that is finally fed to us.

The only thing anyone ,including Eckhart, has said is that Harvey Dent is dead, not Two-Face. I think Nolan and crew are being cagey when they talk like this, and until it's officially announced that Two-Face is indeed dead and someone else is the villian in the next movie, We shouldn't really discount the possibility.

What's wrong with Two-Face? If he came back I'm sure it'd be handled with intelligence. It's not like Nolan is just going to put him in the movie and pretend the ending sequence of The Dark Knight never happened.
