Apocalypse Tye Sheridan is CYCLOPS

Not sure how I'm feeling about Cyke being some angry kid almost sounds like they're trying to make him "cool" by giving him an edge. I think he could still be a boy scout and be badass works for Captain America.

Young Scott has always been portrayed as pretty angst-y, and with good reason. Such characterization would be spot on.

hey people on these boards pick apart females looks all the time, why can't the males be included?

You're not alone. I don't think Sheridan is that good looking either. He's not tragic. But I certainly don't see someone as hot as James Marsden growing out of that either. LOL

But the boy can act his ass off and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

I can easily see how anyone can find him unattractive. Easily.

And still, I think he's yummy.

I welcome people picking apart his looks. That way, I don't feel bad when I mention how wide Sophie Turner's face is. Or, how she's built like a linebacker and speaks like a deaf person. :o

Ok now, I'm not sure I was aware of this. You don't like the casting choice for Jean Grey? How did I miss this???

Her face is as wide as the universe though. But that has to do with her hairstyle being pulled back like that.

lol you two are the worst. :o

I suppose I'm the rare fan who doesn't cry about his dislikes over and over and over and over and over and over again in every thread.

I only mention it when I think it's funny. :o

(In all seriousness, I'm no fan of Turner, but I'm hoping she surprises me and proves me wrong. I'm not in any way convinced that I'm going to hate her -- that would be the wrong way to go about anything.)

You mention your dislike of her all the time. :funny: Her hair, her wardrobe, etc. When the photos of EW photos were released, you even made the effort of listing everyone individually as looking great (leaving out Sophie), instead of just saying the cast looks great.

Tye just kind looks like the less attractive brother of Ansel Elgort. He's not ugly, but he's no Marsden.

And I still find it so difficult getting past Sophie Turner looking like Boy George.:csad:

I'm pretty sure I specifically pointed out 3-4 characters.

;)

The glasses help. I think he'll grow into his looks/nose. He looks alright here:

But of course, this is just one side of his face.:o

What is up with everyone's obsession with noses when it comes to male leads?

LOL Gold!

I don't watch Game of Thrones so the trailer was pretty much the first time I heard Sophie speak and yes that last part of this post is...on the nose...

I think Tye is sexy so I'm excited to see him as Cyclops

I'm happy with the X-men not looking like actual super models this time around. I think it's great that Scott and Jean have some quirks to their appearances.

Sheridan's got that certain presence. In "Joe", he pretty much stole every scene he was in, even when he wasn't doing anything. He naturally gets my attention in a good way. And above all: he can act like a (censored). I really like him being in this film. Good actors with that magical sympathetic presence - what more could I want?

There's also this: if Sheridan manages to be really good, it will naturally make the other actors in the same scenes want to respond in the same way. Guys like this can elevate so much in one movie, in optimal circumstances of course.

[The More You Know]Sophie isn't a super model, but she has in fact done modeling work (she fronted Karen Millen's 2014 fall campaign).[/The More You Know]

On the subject of Tye, he's a great young actor and more than presentable in the looks department, so I think he's a fine choice to be Cyclops. The images we've gotten so far suggest the glasses work okay as part of his appearance too (I think Marsden always looked a bit awkward with them), though the more pressing consideration is acting without his eyes or the region around them. If you look at, say, Charlie Cox in Daredevil, while he's playing a blind guy, you can still convey a lot of emotion with the reactions of his eyes and brow, etc., which any actor playing Cyclops has to do without (LeVar Burton on Star Trek: TNG often seemed like he had similar issues).

Not sure how I feel about the new Cyclops, he doesn't carry the glasses well in that one pic. James looked fierce in his. The new Jean is at least better looking than Famke. I would love to see some of Scott's early years between when he got his powers and when he got his glasses.
