UBISOFT+Theif+PoP+Splinter Cell = ASSASSIN'S CREED!

This game doesn't look nearly as bad as I told Zenien it did when I thought it was just on PS3. I still don't get why they ended the trailer with that matrix stuff though, I really think the game would be better with a "pure" medieval theme.

Thanks to this game, I'm going to expect KoH's Balian to bust some parkour moves when I buy the DC set next weekend :(

Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven.
It's a movie about the Crusades, and Jerusalem and stuff.
Now I'm going to expect Balian (the main character) to be all stealthy and acrobatic like Tristan, when all he does is strategize to defend a city and kill people with a sword.

Which is also cool, actually...

If you have a 360 you are already set

A friend of mine has a 360 and his keeps crashing or bugging out. He's replaced it 3 times from wal-mart. I'll wait for either a price drop or a working PS3 (I know it'll be a year or so after it comes out until it actually works right), I have both a PS2 and an X-Box, so I'm not that biased.

YOUR FRIEND IS CURSED.......I'D STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM HIM AS POSSIBLE. :down:o

I ordered KOH from play, so I hope it's good.

I also wanted to say I had my 360 since launch and had NO problems with it whatsoever.

I think there's something behind this, it's not just a video game set in the Crusades...

Dare I suggest dinosaurs showing up?

Dinosaurs make everything better. Except Dino crisis 3.

Tycho from Penny arcade wrote this, and I dunno I kinda agree with him.
Just for trivia's sake, I should mention that despite the "middle ages" motif, Assassin's Creed is clearly set in a science fiction context. This is something I've been trying to make sense of every since I saw it, the June 2006 Game Informer helps make some sense of it. There's hints of it in the trailer I mentioned, futuristic scan-line effects, but I had written them off to teaser reel flash and didn't absorb what they were trying to communicate. I could be mistaken, I don't think I am, but when the character takes a tremendous amount of damage very pronounced video distortions are present. And when you die - get this - when you die, a pristine white interface takes over the screen, and you are looking up into a woman's face. I did not expect that in my sneaky Crusades game.

that should teach him to stay away from wal mart.

Is he suggesting that the game is basically the Matrix? I don't remember the video camera effects he talks about, but is it really that strange to see white light after dying? And the woman is probably a healer or nun-type character.

I noticed the effects, at least, kinda like they've been taken by a surveillance camera.

I remember that, yeah, but not the distortion. I think it's just a cool effect. Similar to how Battlestar Galactica or Arrested Development are filmed in a cinema verite style, but there isn't actually an in-story camera following everyone around.

CONFIRMED FOR XBOX360 AND PC.

Translation

During the IDEF 2006, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin' s Creed was currently under development for Xbox 360 and PC, in more than one version besides the PlayStation 3 one already announced. The owners of Microsoft's console will be able them to thus step into the shoes of Altair at the height of the Third Crusade. More information soon, especially concerning a possible temporary exclusiveness for Sony's future machine.

Who doesn't?

Asian women. Good news... You should be made a Sir...
