Uncanny Avengers

He has got good art though. His run with Whendon was spectacular!

McNiven is great for an action scene, but there's something about his faces that just looks so... Off... to me.

McNiven can't hold down a monthly schedule either. Anybody remember the last volume of Captain America? They had to bring in Camuncoli to finish the arc.

Give me anybody that can do a large string of issues...ON TIME.

I may be old but I remember a time when an artist could do a book on time...a penciller missing a deadline was almost unheard of

I think the only top artist I can think of that seems to be okay with keeping a monthly schedule is Allred.

Shooter used to fire guys for not being able to do it. He ended up getting fired but I was satisfied....:o

Perhaps these tardy artists should stick to splash pages, posters, and covers like Dell'Otto and Turner(RIP).

yeah but they made deadlines well after that...

Defalco's run was good until about 92 or so..i think he was one of the best. Late 80s and pre-hysteria 90s was the best...

So does anyone know which Avengers title is currently featuring Janet? Ive been poring over the new #1's of the various titles and I dont see her anywhere. Little help?

edit: okay never mind. just read the remender interview. and yes im a fan of JVD. sue me.

Immonen

Immonen's awesome and timely. Deodato seems to be good with deadlines as well.

Deodato's art is fantastic but it really only seems to "fit" on certain titles. I loved his work on Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers but he's just too dark for "lighter" titles such as New Avengers. I feel the same way about Yu. Both artists are great but they really need a title in which the tone matches. For example, Yu is perfect for Hulk but should never draw Iron Man. The styles just don't flow together.

On another note, I had never experienced Cassadey (sp?) before Uncanny Avengers. It's hard for me to personally understand why this guy gets so much praise. His works definitely not bad (like Dillon or Chaykin) but it doesn't seem to be anything special at all. Definitely not worth delaying what was supposed to be the premier "Now" title over. That said, I've enjoyed the first two issues and am optimistic about the future. That said, the sooner we can get a good replacement artist and the title back on schedule, the better!

I loved Deodato on New Avengers. I felt it fit just fine. He wouldn't be very good on humorous books, as his stuff is darker, but he can do normal superheroics just fine. He had a fantastic artistic run on Amazing Spider-Man during the Skin Deep, Sins Past, and the New Avengers arc.

The delays have made me have about no interest in this title. It's like Astonishing X-Men all over again.

Thank God Cassiday was removed from the title before the arc I'm really interested in starts.

wow, #3 still isnt out? Didnt this debut the same month as All New X-men? Sad that that issue is on #6 and UA only is on #2

Well, while Cassaday has been slow, ANXM has also been double shipping some months.

Which arc are you interested in? The Asgard-heavy one coming up next? :awesome:

Anyway, next issue's covers are heavy on crotches. Both the regular and the variant. Just... BAM, crotch-shot. Weird.

I just want to see this damn book get rolling again. Cassaday really screwed the pooch on this one. Seriously, F that dude. He totally derailed a book I was really looking forward to.

it really is too bad
and he doesn't have much of an excuse either
I like Cassaday's art, but it's not crazy complicated and detailed
If Opena can deliver multiple books a month for this first Avengers arc, JC should be able to pull off one monthly book for at least a full arc
