Uncanny Avengers

Remender talks about Uncanny Avengers

I have to admit, I was a bit iffy on this at first, but Remender makes it all sound pretty damn good in that article. Even the Red Skull's regression to how he was just after WWII sounds like it could be interesting the way Remender lays it out.

Apparently there will be 18 variants to #1

yeah that's ridiculous
I never even buy variants, personally
Stickler for having the same guy do the covers that does the interior art
And considering there's really no more collector's market for comics, who in their right mind would spend more money on the rare variants??

I'm the same. I only buy the "main" cover and that's it. I've not bought a variant in... gosh.. since the Sentry variants early in the New Avengers run (issues 7-10 I believe). Waste of money in my opinion. Though I'll admit, I like the trick-or-treat one and the one with Red Skull puking out Havoc (color version). I won't spend money on them though.

i miss thor's chainmail arms. Dont love the new costume really

Yeah it's strange that we've seen that he still has chainmail in some of the art in MarvelNOW
But every piece of art for this book has been sleeveless Thor

I like how that Havok cover almost seems like a throwback to this classic one

I can't believe this book it coming out next week already. Honestly, I'm excited to see what Remender has planned.

really? I thought we were like a month away. So AvX ends this week with issue #12? Is there going to be an epilogue?.

The epilogue is called AVX Consequences and it comes out next week as well.

Haha, one could interpret that Halloween-themed cover as the X-Men just "dressing up" as Avengers for this series. :D

Or it could also be a bunch of normal people all dressed as superheroes

When I saw rogue's face, that's what I thought, as that don't look like no Rogue I ever envisioned

I was just about to post that. :argh:

Thor prefers lattes, huh? I could see it. :D

Nice that they're finally addressing the Avengers' lack of concern for mutants, which should really have been a major thing for them, at least since they became the face of superheroism in the US, if not earlier. Also nice that Cap, at least, recognizes that Wolverine is the absolute wrong face to put on mutant/human cooperation. So far, so good. I'm looking forward to what Havok does as the head of this Avengers squad; if Remender's going to characterize him as a truly great leader, he'll be the one who insists on recruiting Wanda for it. :hehe:

Looks like we know who was getting that lobotomy in those other early preview pages we saw.

So Captain America has a "white man's burden" so to speak, and thinks Havok looks clean enough to lead? I really don't like him :p

Remender said that this new Red Skull is out to exploit the reborn mutant menace for his own gain. Avalanche is probably the test subject that laid the groundwork for The S-Men.

I'm just glad to see a mutant terrorist back again, Magneto left a huge void when he became a "good guy".
