Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Having just playe them, 2 and 3 are pretty close. I guess I'd say they both edge out TR just a bit. But its close.

The way I look at it, both are great, but the experiences are different. Tomb Raider was a fun gameplay experience, but Uncharted was an exciting experience. I remember more of what I did in Tomb Raider, but not much about the story, whereas in Uncharted, a lot of those story beats are what sticks out to me.

Tomb Raider was definitely influenced by Uncharted in terms of Action Sequences, but so were a lot of other games. Like that Star Wars 1313 game, it would've been a great blend of Uncharted gameplay mixed with the Star Wars canon up until Lucas sold the franchise.

Playing Rise of the Tomb Raider right now. I think it easily dropkicks UC1 and UC3. The game's main story does actually handle like an Uncharted game, and it rather strong imo.

It's obvious it took its cues from Uncharted though. Even if it improves on the formula.

And Uncharted took its cues from Tomb Raider. Neither is original, what I care about is which does it better.

For the time the games came out the original Tomb Raider and Uncharted 2 are my favourites.

These 2 and Indy are all the same family. Not surprised if they are looking at each other for ways to improve, I want them to in fact.

I haven't played the game, but I did see the first few hours and various parts of it, and I gotta say, there's something about certain current-gen games that just have a great look to the cutscenes and cinematics.

I just got a PS4 and I noticed it right away with AC: Unity, and I've seen it in Uncharted 4 and RoTR, where everything looks like its shot for a movie, and I personally feel like it adds to the overall experience.

I love them both, and I LOVED the TR reboot much more than Drake's Fortune, but not better than the other two UC games once I finally got to play those. I look forward to being able to play the TR sequel (whenever that may be), but I expect UC4 to be the better of the two games.

Pretty much exactly how I feel well said

Side note I'm almost finished with Drake's Fortune on crushing difficulty. I can only imagine how tough U2 and U3 are going to be on crushing. I'm having a blast replaying through this remastered collection. Bluepoint did a great job U1 looks beautiful. U2 and U3 will probably look incredible.

Crushing gave me fits of rage on the PS3. I don't think I've been so angry at something being so hard since Kintaro in MKII on the SNES...

That being said.. I'll do it again whenever I pick up the trilogy. Maybe after Christmas.

It's been frustrating at times but actually kind of fun? I dunno it's weird haha. It's a matter of figuring out sometimes through trial and error. Figure out where the enemies are coming from, how many, what weapons are available to use etc

lol Kintaro was a sob.
Crushing was tough, but I thought it was much, much harder on U2. Specially on the Monastery.

The story concept is obviously similar with hunting for treasure and the supernatural elements that creep into both series (usually in later chapters), but the gameplay itself in Uncharted never really struck me as much like Tomb Raider pre-reboot. There's some light puzzles and platforming (mainly in Drake's Fortune), but I feel like Uncharted's actual gameplay was a lot more influenced by action shooters than TR.

it's the jungle platforming aspect of TR that uncharted probably got its influence from. there was a time last winter where I was showing this guy the psx demo of Uc4, he had no idea what uncharted was but played the old TR games and as he was watching he was like "yo this is exactly like tomb raider"

Just finished Drake's Fortune on crushing. Was tough. Some other trophies left for a platinum. I bet U2 and U3 crushing are gonna be really tough. Oh boy haha.

some people are predicting now that Uc4 is gonna outsell Halo 5 worldwide

Damn, well I will worry about it when I get there. I'm finishing up my trophies for Drake's fortune. 3 more trophies and then I will have the platinum.
