This Drake doesn't give a **** about Rihanna. Also, Drake in the upper right corner looks like he just found he was someone's baby daddy.

you know all of the talk of a UC film why not do it animated from the same guys who did all the 'cut scenes' of the games but with the quality of what is in UC4 that way you can keep North an co doing the voices.

I've always felt that a lot of big name games should be made like this. My guess is it's hard to sell "animation" as a action blockbuster, not to mention it must be harder to produce a full length feature with complete animations. And of course, you kinda want to have a big named actor tied to the film. Nothing against the Uncharted cast, but Nolan North is not exactly bringing in the dollars.

The Spirits Within kind of killed the idea of Animation action movies.

by that logic, what is even the point? because uncharted the games are pretty much that.

To be honest, after finished U4, I don't think I ever want there to be a movie. The game series ended perfectly and I'd rather they not touch this or The Last of Us, in terms of film adaptations.

tell that to sony.

There is nothing "best" about the first game. It is down right mediocre outside of the characters.

And one of the finest series ever created, in any medium? Calm down. :funny:

Not at all. If it was "mediocre" it would have a "mediocre" reception, which it doesn't. It was the jumping off point for one of the finest series ever created in any medium. That alone puts it above most other titles in gaming. It's one of the few series where each game in the series has only been bested by its following game. There was no better game in the genre until Among Thieves came along, there no better game in the genre until Drakes Deception came along and there was no better game in the genre until May 10th of 2016 when A Thiefs End released. That's just how it is. Accept it or don't, but there's only one right answer.

Really satisfied with the way this ended. No need for any sequels or anything. Naughty dog did right by this franchise.

Yea, no way they do a film better than what ND did here. So I think I'm with you in that I'm not sure I'd even want a film.

If i ever wanted a film I'd rather it a canon prequel series about Nate and Sully and all of the heist they pulled before el dorado. But none of that is likely.

I was in favor of a film before this game came out. I just figured, they need to stop making Indiana Jones movies, but there is a market for this type of pulpy adventure flick that's not being filled, so they still need to find someone who can carry the Indiana Jones torch who's NOT Shia LaBeouf and who's not a Harrison Ford recast - Uncharted provides the perfect opportunity to do just that. A new franchise that could capture the Indy spirit but is still it's own thing that isn't trying to live up to the legacy of Indy himself. HOWEVER, after playing this game, I'm firmly against a movie adaptation now. This was just too perfect an ending, and there's no way a movie series would live up to it (especially since it wouldn't star the same actors), imo.

I know that this is all a matter of opinion, but...
I don't get how anyone can like Drake's Deception more than Among Thieves (Or A Thief's End, for that matter). To me, it contends with Drake's Fortune for the "worst" of the series, which is obviously still good.

It's a more ambitious game than Drake's Fortune, but also fails to capitalize on a lot of the story it sets up, and in the end, feels a bit rushed. I also think the gameplay was a lot more clunky than in Among Thieves. The AI was dumber, running to and from cover for no reason.

Drake's Fortune is a more succesful game, to me, if you look at it for what it is. Which is a stepping stone to greater pastures.

Also, sign me up for not understanding "Uncharted never had good gameplay." I had a blast in Among Thieves, and A Thief's End.

Anyway. Ramble over.

Just finished it. Not sure where all the gut-wrenching reactions were that people kept talking about. [blackout]Was it Sam lying about the drug lord thing? I thought that became kind of obvious whenever he absolutely refused to acknowledge another option to pay him back.[/blackout] Overall, though, good story with good writing, very good dialogue and character interactions. The flow of it was rather cliche, but cliche in a good, satisfying way that made sense to the narrative ND has through the series (I don't know what all the talk was about this entry being darker, storywise, than any of the other games. It was the same old tone to me, really). Despite a really boring stretch, I was into the story.

From a technical standpoint, it's pretty much unrivaled to the lush graphics and set pieces to the crazy attention to detail.

It does have the flaws of the previous games, though. The shooting is pretty shallow and basic. The platforming is basically brain-dead and just something to do. There's little enemy variety. The puzzles really are weak in this one, too, especially compared to Drake's Deception. And the melee is awful as usual. It's enjoyable enough to get from point A to B and all, but I've always wished that ND would try and improve the combat. It feels like all the progression and polish of the game has gone to the storytelling and technical aspect of the games and much less so the gameplay. And while I enjoy those aspects, I really do, I hope one day we can get a story as well written and told as Uncharted 4 with actual great gameplay, especially some great melee combat.

But it is what it is. Great game, either way, definitely a very solid 8/10 for me.

Drake's Fortune had the fortune (pun intended) of coming out at the launch of the PS3, and being a trail-blazer for a new type of game that was just beginning to form. Overall, though, it's not a very good game. Had it come out just a year or so later, I think the reception to it would've been much less positive. It's not an awful game per say, but I think mediocre sums it up pretty well. The shooting, the platforming, the level design, and the puzzles were all half-baked. The only thing that it excelled at was its well-written story and cinematic presentation, and even then it's trumped very thoroughly by its successors. It's very much a rough draft of what Naughty Dog was wanting the series to be.

I can't speak for everyone, but basically
The young Drake revelation of how they get the name Drake, and what happened to their mother. Overall, their relationship, where Nate refuses to lose his brother again. Not to mention the Elena stuff, especially the end with their daughter.

The Uncharted film has been in development hell for as long as it's supposedly been a thing. I don't really think you have to tell Sony much on that point.

I know. If they're not pursuing it anymore then they should just cancel it.

Totally with you on all of this.

Because Among Thieves has giant, stupid blue people. Seriously.. I live these games but I HATED that part of the game. The entire ending of that game was just meh for me.

A third person action/shooter game? Because Resident Evil 4 is still the best game of this genre, and I love, love, love Among Thieves and A Thief's End.

People liked the idea of Uncharted. But it was overrated, like all overly hyped games from beloved studios. The quality of Uncharted is on display with how much better Among Thieves is. It didn't even hold up for two years. And I don't there is anyway one can claim Drake's Deception is on par with Among Thieves. It was an attempt to out Among Thieves at its own game, and failed at it imo. Good game, much better then the first, but far from Among Thieves. Among Thieves and A Thief's End show the obvious design flaws in Drake's Deception. Such as the lack of depth in the storytelling and repetitive gameplay mechanics, that artificially lengthen the game.
