Keith and Mac couldve still been an active part of the show if they really wanted. Logan would probably make some occassional appearances..

But the preview of what never was, was really good. Its nice to know where Veronica will end up. TheCW should give us annual Veronica Mars tv movies every year.

I mean, I guess it's nice to see where Veronica would've eventually ended up. But all the things that made the show enjoyable were pretty much gone, save for Veronica herself. Also it's a little weird to see Veronica working for the Man.

It'd be fine if they'd run out of stories and had wrapped up things in Neptune, but I'm sorta glad they didn't get to go with this.

I'm glad this didn't get picked up. No Mac, No Logan, No Keith, No Wallace. It lost all it's originality. And none of the new faces made me want to like them.

Remember Mac wasn't introduced until late into se1, Keith is still Veronica's father so I'm sure he's be a part of the show and this was only a few scenes. I would've given it a chance.

Mac still became an awesome part of the show and Veronica Mars as a FBI Agent who ditches all her old friends in face of new ones that have what looked to be nothing in the personality department does not intrigue me.

The thing about the supporting cast in seasons 1-3 was that everyone had a much different personality (Wallace had his own, Jackie had her own, Beaver had his own, Piz had his, Dick, Weevil, Parker, Logan, etc, etc.), the new faces in that pilot had zilch in that department.

Again, this is just a couple of scenes. You can't compare characters that had several seasons to grow to characters you've only seen in a couple scenes.

True... but I think with a little more polish it could retain more of the originals vibe... the premise is fine, but a couple recasts and retouching of the supporting cast would have made that show the next evolution...

And besides, it would have made the obligatory once-a-year reunion episode that much sweeter. Even FBI chicks go home for christmas.

Like I said, it would've been fine if it was at a point where the Neptune stories had run their course and we were done with most of the characters. But right after season 3? Nah.

We still had plenty left in at least Wallace, Logan, Dick, Mac and Keith. Piz and Parker could have easily been removed, Weevil was already feeling as if he was just being kept on the show to show the less wealthy side of Neptune.

I wish they'd given us more. I liked that Dick was trying to redeem himself. I mean he's the guy who basically set Veronica up to be raped.

Question:

I just ordered the first season, and I'm really looking forward to getting into the show. I watched the pilot a while back and loved it, plus it's got Ms. Bell. :heart:

I'm aware the show was cancelled last year, so my question is whether or not the third season ended on a resolution that was strong enough to give a somewhat satisfying end to the series. My fear is that I really get into the DVDs, only for that third season set to REALLY disappoint me. Thoughts?

Third season had the show go through some changes. There wasnt a seasonal arc, and by the time the series is over a lot of things are left up in the air. Things really didn't return to form until the last two or 3 eps. Also some of supporting cast were inexplicably absent for long periods of the season(I think for budget reasons they couldnt appear as often). However, it was still good, just not as much as the previous seasons(Season 1 is the best). It may disappoint a little, but it is still totally worth getting.

Hmm. Interesting.

Personally, I'm just concerned with how it ends. Is it one of those situations where there's some silly cliffhanger that goes unresolved, or does it have some sort of closure to it?

Sorry, no closure. Without giving anything away, I'll just remind you that the show does take some noir elements, and so the good guys don't always win, and sometimes when they do it's at a heavy cost.
