Visualizing A Superman Reboot: Pictures Welcome - Part 1

I really don't see what's so bad about this. It's like some of you think that Superman IS red underwear on the outside of his trousers. It's just insane.

I would honestly take the SR suit over that one.

I don't see on what's wrong with sticking largely to the classic design with a modern touch up like Sam Raimi did with his Spiderman costume.

If you go down the route the picture above, or even Burton's superman costume, then you could wreck on a potentially great thing.

Here are some other Krypton comic/cartoon images, I don't know where all of them are from:

For starters, they must get away from the Donner movies Krypton and FOS. For Krypton, although I'd most want the iconic classic Alex Raymond inspired Krypton that Joe Shuster designed, I think the Birthright version is a solid update of that and would look great:

As for the FOS, I want the classic all the way:

Bumping this too. I'd like to see some influence from Birthright's Krypton in this movie.

I really like Birthrights depiction. It was really great IMO.

and since is Zod is going the be the villain, i wouldn't mind seeing something like this

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

Maybe not as advanced-looking as some of the other pics posted, but I liked the concept art for Imagi's canceled animated Gatchaman film...

Something like having certain lower parts of major cities seem a little bit less advanced than the higher levels.

Fortress2.gif

I think Snyder left to his own devices would use the classic fortress.
I mean look at it, it is WAY out there compared to what has been on screen before and some good CGI could do it justice.

But people, remember.....just as Zod has become fixated in the minds of the general movie goers (non-fanboy), so has the crystal fortress been entrenched into millions of minds as to what the fortress is supposed to look like, regardless of it's Donneresque origin.

Remember the crystal fortress is now part of the comic book status quo as well.

I think of the current status quo every time people argue that they should move on from Donner and make the movie modern like the current comics. :funny:

Whats lol about it? It looks awesome.

I would like to see that Krypton design. That's from Birthright?

It's actually drawn by Jim Lee in Brian Azzarello's "For Tomorrow", and based on Birthright's depiction.

I'll also add "For Tomorrow" was an INCREDIBLY disappointing read.

Correct. Jim Lee from For Tomorrow.

Thanks. I've been meaning to read it. But, I keep hearing mixed things. What's so good/bad about it?
