Everyone deserves to have fair wages and a good work environment, and if the government doesn't plan on stepping up on health care the companies should.
We do have fair wages. Tell me somewhere else that someone do as little as cashier and make $8.00 an hour with NO experience. Thats our minimum starting wage at my Wal-Mart, and actually thats for People Greeting and Cart Pushing, cashiers get $.80 more. At the Wal-Mart a city away its $8.40. At the Wal-Mart two hours away its $10.00. And again, thats NO experience. For every year, up to six, you get an additional .40 an hour. After three months you're mostly likely going to get either a $.40 raise or a $.55 raise. Say you had three years of experience and put out quality work in your first ninety days. Boom, you're at $10.55. Yes, thats COMPLETELY unfair wages.
Good work environment? You mean like, oh fifteen minute breaks every two hours? A lunch that employees are REQUIRED to take if they work at least six hours? Yeah, the unionized grocery store I worked at I got two breaks and no lunch in an eight hour shift. Wal-Mart (while I was an hourly associate) I got two breaks and an hour lunch for the same time period. I don't take fifteen minute breaks anymore, but thats because I don't want them. I have too much to get done, and I'm on a salary. But thats my choice, not the company's.
Good benefits? How many companies or unions offer cancer insurance? And the rates and benefits of Wal-Mart's associate insurance programs are great compared to most other company offered programs. Not to mention the non-insurance benefits. Ten percent off almost all non-grocery merchandise.
Non company discounts that apply to:
Several national tourist attractions, including: Kennedy Space Center, the San Diego Zoo, the Fort Worth Zoo, and Stone Mountain Park
Discounts from Ford, GMC, and Daimer-Chrysler
Discounts from Enterprise Car Rental, Alamo, Hertz, Avis and Budget.
Every major cell-phone carrier.
Many movie theaters.
Pro baseball team tickets: Braves, Orioles, Rangers, Angels and Royals.
Theme parks:
Busch Gardens, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Kings Island, Legoland, Sea World, Six Flags, Universal Studios and Disney World.
Among many others.
Yes, such crappy benefits.
Oh not to mention: Profit sharing? Already this year, full time associates in my Wal-Mart have received a $424 bonus check in the first quarter, and in less than a month they'll be receiving another $475 for the second quarter. Compare this to management (money grubbing capitalistic *******s that we are

) we only get one bonus check a year, and thats IF we qualify for the year.
How about stock purchase program? For every dollar that you spend of your check on Wal-Mart stock, the company contributes an additional $.15. May not seem like much, but if you're taking out $50 a check, thats an additional $7.50 a check that you get for free.
