WandaVision WandaVision: Season 1, Episode 6 "All-New Halloween Spooktacular!" (spoilers)

If there is anyone else behind it. i don't think they want her power. i think they are more interested in what she can do with her power. Wanda certainly isn't a victim in this and i don't think the goal is for her to become one either.

So if Wanda really activates the Mutants with expanding the Hex around the world, what do you think the iconic line will change?
No more...normal people?

This would be the perfect payoff, IMO. Ever since House of M, X-fans have blamed Wanda for killing 90% of Marvel's mutants. (The editors were really to blame, of course.) Introducing mutants to the MCU through Wanda's "hex" bubble would be a perfect subversion of that awful story.

I have always hated the fact that Marvel's writers and editors have used Wanda's powers and supposed insanity as blunt instruments to kill off characters they had no use for. This started with Hawkeye, Scott Lang and Jack of Hearts and carried on with unwanted mutants. Feige, being the ultimate fan, could be rectifying the injustice done to Wanda in the comics, just as Iron Man's reputation was repaired in the MCU.

Except mutation is supposed to be a natural process of human evolution and the activation of the x-gene.

Another great episode. I really felt for Monica in this episode, when she said she wanted to help Wanda because she knows how she feels.

I'm surprised Wanda spoke so freely about her control of the townspeople when she asked "You don't think it's wrong?"

Peters was great in this episode but still #NotMyPietro

Yeah I like Peters but everything about this Pietro felt wrong to me. He didn't even feel like the Fox X-Men version. However, I feel like that was the intention. It also felt like this Pietro was interrogating and fishing Wanda for information. Which is a little confusing. If this Pietro wants information from Wanda...who sent him there for that purpose?

I do think Monica is partially to blame for SWORD's escalation of this incident. Granted, Hayward is a moron, but Monica seemed to overreact in her initial reports.

I really hope we do get Abigail Brand at some point to take over the organization, even if she was a Joss Whedon character.

I didn't watch Malcolm in the middle so I don't really get all the references in this episode.

I wish Lizzie Olsen would permanently wear a Scarlet Witch costume based on her Halloween costume.

Not sure what is going on with Pietro or who he might be.

I think we might get an actual comic accurate MCU Scarlett Witch costume in this show. I kind of think her wearing the Halloween costume is sort of a foreshadowing of what’s to come.

Was I the only one who got the impression that Monica might be the FUTURE Director of S.W.O.R.D.? Hayward seems a bit of a tool.

Well the implication in episode 4 was she probably would've taken over after her mother, if she hadn't been blipped. But I'm more interested in her being a superhero than head of SWORD.

I just had a HOLY CRAP moment watching WandaVIsion. Wanda reminds her kids not to go past 'Ellis Ave' (which is on the outskirts of town) I LIVE on a street called Ellis Ave thus the HOLY CRAP moment, I had to rewind to make sure I was not hearing things.

Definitely a smart way of acknowledging the comics but glad they didn’t do the headdress as the “real” costume in the movies

It's going to happen in the film, Kevin Feige all but confirmed she's going to fully come into her role and place as The Scarlet Witch in Multiverse of Madness

The poster they released when the show first premiered/the image on the show's page on Disney Plus seems to suggest a new costume for Scarlet Witch by the end on those little TV screens cause one shows her chest area with a new looking costume, and another little TV over her arm showing some glove on her arm. They didn't look like the simple Halloween costume from episode 6, they look like an MCU costume with all the extra bits.

That can happen but doesn’t mean she’s going to wear a comic accurate costume

I wish we had a proper 90s episode with more 90s sitcoms referenced. I also thought last week's theme tune was better and catchier.

I thought Ellis Avenue might refer to President Ellis from Iron Man 3 as played by William Sadler who himself referenced Warren Ellis.

Who's to say mutants don't exist as is but they're not as common? This doesn't mean that mutants suddenly exist, they're in hiding or have been hiding their powers.. Maybe the murant gene exists in a lot of people but its dormant and Wanda just unlocks it.

I think it makes sense, still allows Logan and Magneto to keep their origins and still allows for Apocalypse to exist.

Then that's a really contrived and silly narrative device.

It's interesting that Vision doesn't remember his time as an Avenger. Nor that he's dead. Which poses more questions
That’s just consistent with what was already revealed last episode when he stated that he can’t remember anything about his life before Westview.

As much as I enjoyed the episode myself they definitely could have done more with the 90's sitcom period. I mean not a single Full House reference just feels like kind of a waste of potenital, especially when you actually have one of the Olsen's in your show. Maybe expecting the twins to show up was asking for too much, but they really could have had some crazy fun with it had they gone there.

I mean the biggest sitcoms of the 1990s were probably Friends and Seinfeld. Probably didn't fit the mold of the story they were trying to tell now that they had growing kids.

ALSO,

Shows like Full House and Family Matters, while they were big in the 1990s, actually debuted in the 1980s. Full House debuted in 1987.

Could Wanda’s bubble be the cause of the Inhuman, or at least Kamala Khan’s powers... since Westview is in New Jersey.
