War Zone Box Office Thread

The reason Punisher: War Zone flopped is BECAUSE it appealed to a comic book-fan hating *****e bag like Devin. That was something that didn't sit right with me before I seen it, why he gave it such a good review. I figured it was because he seen it as more of an action film. But after seeing it, I realized it was because he is someone who thinks all comic book movies need to be funny and not take themselves seriously. He thinks fans that want that are morons who put the genre on a pedistal, when they should be brightly colored joke books. The guy is not a friend to the comic book film genre, his praise for Punisher War Zone is testament to that.

Hold on...so one of your reason for hating the movie is because a film critic that you hated liked the movie?

I would just like to point out to all of you naysayers that Punisher War Zone beat out supposed "blockbuster" Eagle Eye this week. This proves that the word is spreading and this film will easily turn a profit once the much sought after DVDs are released to the millions of people eager to see it!

No, my sole reason for "hating" it was just watching it expecting a better Punisher film. However, Devin liking it should have told me it would not be the Punisher film I thought it was going to be. Just read any comment I made here before December 5th. I was pretty excited, then got a wet sticky sack of $#!t dumped on my lap.

DD Director's Cut was better than the theatrical one so who knows?

Exactly. Those of you who disliked the film and are trashing Lexi need to keep in mind that it is very possible that LG kept Lexi from getting the film(or cut) that she wanted. IMO, she did very good with what she had.

Only a tad, she even said most of the stuff that was cut out were the quieter moments with Soap or the kid. And I'm pretty damn sure that including those scenes isn't going to make the movie any better.

You're right to a degree - but the OTT tone wasn;t something that came together in the editing room. That was something they said they were going for during filming.

The difference is it made Castle a darker character in that cut, having a few more minutes of Soap being a dip-**** isn't going to help anything.
