War Zone Box Office Thread

The movie was awesome by my standards, but I will agree with everyone on the fact that you won't see Punisher again in a film anytime soon.

No, my sole reason for "hating" it was just watching it expecting a better Punisher film. However, Devin liking it should have told me it would not be the Punisher film I thought it was going to be. Just read any comment I made here before December 5th. I was pretty excited, then got a wet sticky sack of $#!t dumped on my lap.

Only reason i asked is because you said that reading Devin's review made you think that there's gotta be something wrong with the film, even before seeing the movie. So it may have been possible that you went to see this movie looking for faults.

...or not. Doesn't really matter anyway.It's just too bad that the punisher as a franchise is now officially dead.Kinda ironic too when you think about it. Punisher as a character ...and his stories.. is probably the easiest comic property to get right, and yet Hollywood still could not get it right after all these years...even after adapting more complex comic book properties such as X-men and Batman.

Trust me you have made it very clear you didnt like it. Allot of guys did but for every one good review the one guy that didnt like PWZ had to post 3 times more. It will rake in some great DVD sales.

And it still won't get a sequel...yes, this post wasn't really needed but I'm tired of people trying to pretend that this movie isn't a megabomb because they think that it will sale 100 million copies on DVD's.

We should talk about DVD sales in a DVD sales thread and as far as I can tell, this thread is about the movie's boxoffice.

If the movie couldn't make it's budget back in theaters...what makes anyone think it'll make a hell of a lot of money once it's on DVD? I loved the movie, don't get me wrong, but DVD sales aren't going to help much at all.

That's what the last Punisher film did. This one will be no different. Especially since this one is an even better film. Alot of people didn't know that this movie was a reboot or that it had even come out due to the poor marketing.

Midnight Meat Train has been on Fear.net for free the last 2 months, and a good portion of Horror Fans still passed on seeing it. Barker isn't that much of a draw, and the movie is the the best thing he has put out in a while, but not that great.

It may very well rake in good DVD sales, but that doesn't really matter. It did worse than Howard the Duck, and it took 4 days just to get 2004's Punisher Friday box office.

i think it will actually make a good amount of money on dvd. people will buy anything on dvd. but there's no money it can make to warrant a sequel. even tho i kinda liked the film, i know it's not getting a sequel. there's just no way it's gonna happen after that terrible box office performance. it'll be mighty hard to convince any producer to try and tackle this property again especially nowadays when there's plenty other properties to adapt. maybe in like 10 years.

This record setting bomb can only mean one thing...that people want to own this movie so bad that they intentionally tanked the movie so that they could get the DVD faster.

Frank Castle is a demolitions expert. A focus on explosives in the next film would be different, but cool.

Punisher is a hero that is a better tv show than he is a movie hit. Same as Daredevil, Moon Knight, Luke Cage and Wonder Woman(people can say what the hell they want to say but if Diane had a movie released in theaters, it would bomb). Hopefully Marvel and Lionsgate will realize this and make it happen.
