"you guys"?

Have I even told you about what I think of the film? Since when have I said only people who like the film can be passionate? In fact, when did I even mention your stance on the movie?

You're just putting words into my mouth right now.
You ha been arguing with me about it. Right? You have argued with me about the film in other threads? Right? And if you weren't passionate, then you wouldn't be arguing with me about something that you have yet to state your stance on, only posts attacking my post. AS I said before, state your case? Do you have a problem with me having a problem with the women's cut speedo's panties they put on the SR suit? You obviously do. Do you have a problem with me stating why the speedos on the suit did not work for US audiences? You obviously did. Do you have a problem with me stating the fact that Speedos are not accepted here, and why they aren't? You obviously do. So stop beating around the bush and state your case on what we are debating about.

Ill start. Here is an example in the US of speedos being goofed on in apolitical campaign-

also, one of the towns who had banned it on the east coast. They just lifted the 30 year old ban.
New Jersey beach town repeals ban on Speedos
The swimsuit ban was enacted in the 1960s in response to complaints about gay men who wore the suits on the beach, according to former mayor Robert Elwell, who writes a Cape May history column for a local newspaper.

They are even banned for Guantanamo prisoners

As much as we hate Al Quaida, we don't even want them wearing them.

I have argued with you in one other thread.

FOR GODS SAKE, I NEVER SAID YOU WERE LYING, AND I THINK THE BRIEFS ON THE SR SUIT LOOK TERRIBLE.

Dear god, you are like talking to a brick wall.

Well what the hell is your problem then? That I am arguing about it. That is what this place is for. To discuss about Superman Returns on things we like and dislike. Is there a sticky on what we can or can't argue about? No. Is there a sticky on how pationate you can be? No. What is your problem. You have not said anything about what your problem is other then if I don't see it. Stop beating around the bush and just say it. This has dragged out to two pages with me trying to guess what your problem is. Just say it.

I already told you, and we have already talked about it

I think you take things way too seriously. That's all I said.

Um okay I don't ever remember talking about it. And as far as me taking things too seriously, I am just discussing things and stating my opinion. Don't understand how that is taking things too seriously. This is a discussion board. And the topic of the thread is asking "was it really that bad", which implies didscussion from both sides, as well as stating opinions one what made it so bad.

I never said that a symbol on the cape was wrong... I have no problem with it being there or not.

and as for the millions of :super:s... yes they did make a suit for SR that had :super:s as the pattern, and Singer himself basically said that it was ridiculous

Why would he say that when it was his decision to do that?

And i cant believe people are complaining about this anyway, they barely, if at all noticable.

maybe he finally realized that not all of his ideas are good...

when they're comparing both of the suits side by side...

he says he doesn't want us to see just millions of :super:s... smartest thing he ever did for Superman.

Where did Singer say it was ridiculous? Is that on the DVD?

Yes in the extras. It wasn't his idea but I don't think he said it was ridiculous (it's been awhile since I saw it though). I think he was worried it was overkill. I liked it because it gave the suit texture.

Also people get beat up wearing speedos? Some places are just silly is all I say to that. Not to mention banning them. :wow: :ninja:

So I guess America isn't so free then. :(

Angeloz

Thanks Kakarot and Angeloz. I think I vaguely remember seeing something like that on the Extras.

As for the Speedos thing...Yeah, beating people over Speedos is just nonsensical. Oh well.

maybe he finally realized that not all of his ideas are good...
I didn't know you knew Singer so well that you know he thinks every idea he has is perfect.

Of course, it could just be fanboy assumption, but you seem to just know what you are talking about.

And that's what he did. Being the S's so tiny what we can see is the cool texture, not the actual S's. So I agree: smartest thing. :)

and I didn't know you'd bow at his feet for making a poor choice.
I don't bow at his feet.

I don't do anything regarding Bryan Singer, for I haven't met the man or know his inner workings. All I know is that he has made 3 movies I enjoy watching. You, however, love to dictate every fault about a person you have never met.

So tell me, who is being more unreasonable?

maybe in your head...

No, actually human eye can't catch that. Like when you read a comic book you don't catch red dots over yellow but you see orange. See? Objective fact are in my head but all over the world too. :)

the only unreasonable people I see are the ones who can't understand or accept the fact that other people will not like this movie.

You know, being a newbie it makes it easier to step back and view these arguments from a distance. They have been going on way before my time. So as i'm not so much a part of them, I can view them objectively.

And frankly, what I see is ridiculous.

The red is not red enough. WTF. Seriously, just consider what you are saying for a moment.

The briefs look ridiculous. They have always looked ridiculous.

And what about that entire argument of whether Superman could've withstood lifting an entire continent full of kryptonite. Whatever stance you have on the issue, both sides seem to forget that he dies afterwards.

And now we are discussing a throwaway line in a film (which most people have completely forgotten about by the time the scene is over) and how it completely unravels the reality of a Superman movie.

A little perspective is all I ask people. And this goes for both sides.

I accepted that long ago, and you shouldn't get too comfortable with that recycled response. Whether you liked the movie or not wasn't ever part of our discussion. I was talking about why you seem to think you know how Bryan Singer thinks.

I wasn't talking to you specifically... and there are still a lot of people on here who think that, and it really irritates me.

What's your point? You have a problem with people who don't like the bland colors of the suit. We know the colors on the suit were muted in post production for no apparent reason. We have seen the original Sony Imageworks CG stuff right here on the Hype. The original colors were bright and beautiful. Even most of the defenders agree the colors on the suit were terrible.

Not to mention that WB studio honchos have espressly mentioned the suit would be brighter if a sequel is ever made.

So why are we crazy for thinking the suit colors are terrible?

no they haven't.

I meant live action, and the entire concept is ridiculous anyway.
