I have to disagree a little with Bosef. I love reading others ideas and treatments and fully support anyone who attempts them. Whether they are good to me or not, creativity or the attempt of it should always be applauded.
I agree. I encourage creativity on all levels. I think it's refreshing.
The other 90% of what he's saying though I totally agree with.
It's amazingly tiring to come to the MOS forum to read about forward movement, or lack thereof, and have to wade through page upon page of the same ol arguments, most of which dont even belong in this forum. I understand peoples frustrations with SR, it's been two years of reading them. Bosef's got a point though...move on. Look towards the potential of the future not dwelling on the past, you might be a bit happier with the possibilities.
I dont always agree with the way this forum is run, I think staying on topic and not letting every thread devolve into the same thing a good idea but I do have to give kudos to Showtime. I think he's been incredibly patient, level headed and fair through all this.![]()
I think the problem is both sides tend to dwell in the past, the "lovers" discussing everything they loved about the movie and the "haters" discussing everything they disliked about the film. I almost feel like as long as the discussions are civil, it is what messageboards are made for. I think it is tough to move on, and echoing what Hunter has said below, there is nothing really to move on too. I think the reason we see these threads all mirroring each other despite the original intent is because the news is so limited. I appreciate the kind words, I try my best along with C. Lee and the other Mods including Hunter Rider.
I think the problem is that whenever forward movement is mentioned it is either "Singer is coming back" or "reboot" and that brings out the pro and anti crowds, if the reboot is mentioned as the likely direction then the pro SR guys get upset over Singers vision not getting played out, if the news is "Singer is returning" then the anti crowd start worrying they are gonna get more of what they thought was a sub par Superman from a director they don't trust. I mean even if we get a concrete word on which direction it is going we will see thread with ppl angry and moaning about said direction.
The stance at WB from what I've heard, along with others in the industry including some webmasters, is that WB wants this sequel to happen with or without some of the creative team from Superman Returns.

, no S on the cape, (Not that big a deal) the S on the belt, Ss all over the boots and suit, the cape looked uncomfortable to say the least.
Please, read again. The Guard is clearly saying WHY exactly.
Soo true.

Unless you are talking about pre production (wich I doubt you are, interpret that as you will) in wich case they started working on the story in late 2006. But the film has had some delays in production.
A few selected?! Totally disagree. Dude, then how come the film made nearly $400 mil WW, had good reviews, great rentals ($60 mil when it first came out) and very good dvd sales? By coincidence?! Explain that to me. Clearly the film was popular enough to want to make a sequel, and with more action and superfights, Mark my words: SR2 will do better at the BO. No doubt. Yes, I think Singer will deliver. So, some fans didn't like the film that much/or hated it, ok, but the 'fans' are a minority, they don't make or brake a film of this magnitude.
