^^^I agree. Thats why I say WB should wait to do a JL film (if they want to include Batman) after Bale has finished his run be that the next film or 3 more films away

At the very least.....the very least.....WB won't consider making a JL movie until Nolan makes Batman 3. More likely, though, is that we won't see a JL movie for many years, if ever, since it probably has now been relegated to the bottom of Warners' to-do list.

I can see Bale saying this. JL has never seemed to me like the kind of project that he would agree to star in.

I think his judgment not to do JL makes up for the Terminators and other this-n'-that's. Terminator had already gone to crap after #2, at least he did his part to maintain the integrity of the Batman franchise for the time being. Heck, he could agree to another Police Academy for all I care if he could stick with only Nolan's Batman.

so if history repeats if in 3 years they dont have a tentpole movie then they will maybe force a new superman movie . but that of course doesnt mean that it would be a bad movie . IMO you dont need 5 or 10 years for a good script. some people think that if you spend 4 or 5 years MORE then it will be better.

That is correct TS was suppose to be Superman: Man of Steel as far as tentpole movies go. Which is pretty sad IMO because I was looking forward to that movie.

A number of projects WB was anticipating for Summer 2009 were either delayed (i.e. the next Superman film, Clash of the Titans, etc.) or flat-out killed (i.e. Justice League: Mortal, Akira, etc.)

They badly needed something to fill in that slot and Terminator: Salvation had already had a couple of drafts written leading up to the WGA Strike. Simple as that.

The final Potter film(s) is already filming and The Hobbit is in deep, deep pre-production. I wouldn't worry about either at this point.

Yep....in the end WB's isn't sweating any loss they might be accruing for Salvation. TDK made a boat load of $$$$$ and Potter will make a boat load of $$$$$ and so will The Hobbit.

I still don't get why some folk feel a Batman/Superman teamup is better than a Justice League film by default, somewhat. Barring that either could be great or lousy depending on the execution, isn't having 5 heroes more awesome than having just Batman and Superman? What with the flying and superspeed and huge scale and the characters that haven't been in films/tv recently/yet...

But for now, even to have a Superman film would warm my crusty heart, though.

I was all for a JL film before, but after i've had time to think about it, I now think it would cause more problems than anything.
I see it like this if it happened now. There would be WAY to many characters and not near enough time on each one to properly introduce a largely unfimilar public to them.
With a World's finest film, the time could be balanced between just the two (supes and bats). Most know those two anyway and they'd get more bang for their buck.
That said, if G.L. is a hit, and they then by some miracle decide to make a Flash and W.W. film, then i'd be all for JL, but not before then tho. IMO, solo films should be made first.

Yea as others have said there is so many factors that would have to come in and all that and things could be a mess or it could all work out. The solo films ruote does seem like a safe ruote to go if they can ever get the characters off the ground that is. But also looking at it with all the problems with getting the solo films running doing a jl seemed liked the right idea so then if its a hit doing solos after would be easier.
