someone wrotte that WB owns DC. so this wont happen.
with nolan WB got lucky.
what i dont understand is why the WB doesnt want money.if someone will say now that WB wants quality moveis then i say f... you WB. catwoman was not a quality movie. batman89 was not an oscar movie.

with comicbook movies they could make the whole world happy. they could make movies that people love because of action and humor and they could be faithfull to comics and please the fanboys.
i guess... they just love to be... innovative a bit. :woot:

a successful formula for superman movie is so simple. almost all of us get it. (by judging all the fans scripts i have read here) but they just wanna try something 'new and refreshing' as dark_b said it. :woot:

No. If WB can put out an amazing Batman film that gets lots of love from both fans and critics then there is no reason why the same can't happen with Superman. The problem here is that the people behind Batman (Nolan brothers and Goyer) did their homework by reading up on several comics and using some of those storylines to influence their movies. All the people behind Superman did was look at the pretty pictures but never actually bothered to read anything. They were too busy copying lines and scenes from Superman: The Movie.

WB just needs to hire the right people to handle Superman. Someone willing to do some homework. Singer is not the answer.

Flawless you called it :cwink:

DC needs to take control it would make a world of difference. They need to at least hire directors and writers that know character mythology (from the books) and actually give a damn about staying true to it.

DC HAS given input into both BATMAN BEGINS and SUPERMAN RETURNS. Filmmakers spoke with authors, artits, and the editors to see what their thoughts were. DC provided filmmakers on both film projects with countless comic book sources for inspiration. And Dave Gibbons consulted on WATCHMEN.

w.b. at the 2nd weekend of may is cursed. the only one that didnt flat out bomb horribly was troy which was just a huge dissappointment.

so DC knew about the SR story beforehand? did they contribute into the SR story too?

I don't know. I don't think so.
then what sorta input they had contributed???
i thought it was only the singer and his two sidekicks flicking through the comic to look for the images and artistic impression.
which of DC artist and writer, they had consulted to?

I am sure they had too.

I do know DC has a lot of input into Smallville. At least as far as what they allow and don't allow to be done on the show... So if they are kept in the loop on the TV show I can't imagine they would be forced out of the loop on the movies.

I asked my kids if they would like to see speed racer.
They all said they would rather see Iron Man again.
I have 3 boys 18, 15, 11.

A disappointment in the US, overseas Troy made a ton of money.
May isn't cursed for WB, they simply don't have any idea how to do a good summer tentpole.

WB need to put together a great team / cast for a project other than Supes or Bats, but what I'd most like to see from them is a non Singer Superman film because SR was wank. Keep Routh, that is if this time he can actually get in Superman shape this time and not require another obviously fake muscle suit.

They need a director with balls for Superman, and Singer clearly has no balls.
We need Braniac, Metallo, Darkseid. That's all there is too it. There needs to be drag out brawls between Supes and similarly powered foes. Some frikkin action please! Heck, even the crap-tastic Supes IV had the big blue exchanging fisticuffs with a super powered foe.

We need a Superman movie for the 21st century, not another weak homage to STM.
Keep the theme tune, that's iconic, keep Routh if he can get some real muscles this time, but kill the rest of the cast and make a true comic book adaptation GODDAMMIT!

Considering what Routh and Singer have said, Man of Steel will have a super powered foe like Brainiac or Metallo for Superman to fight and will be more than just an homage to Superman the Movie.

So your claims that Singer has no balls and that it won't be a Superman movie for the 21st century kinda have no basis :o

W.B. needs to fast forward Superman. They want a 20 something for the teen crowd to identify with. Superman: O.C.?

We know where he came from, an origin story has been well established.

What they need is an epic movie, a trilogy. A large story arc to carry it. The comics and animations cover the simple mundane Superman stories. A big budget trilogy needs to be huge. It need to be of a caliber that will be watched 20 years from now. I still watch Donner's movie practically every year. I saw SR in the theatre and have no desire to buy the DVD. Or look at Lord of the Rings. You can watch it over and over, it is epic in the story and effects. THAT is what Superman needs.

I am not a Superman junkie, I don't know his mythology very well. I can think of two arcs that could be epic. Doomsday and Darkseid. Having read Death and Life of Superman, I gotta say there has to be material for at least 3 movies in there. Or, Darkseid's attempt to enslave the Earth. Either on should have loads of action scenes.

I want to see an adult Superman and established in his persona. I don't want to see another Lex Luthor real estate scheme.
