wb talking to ryan gosling to play jl batman

Young Hercules???

I agree completely with the posters here who say that an older cast is needed. The JLA is comprised of veterans, not newbies. Gosling for Bats?
Uh....no. The rumored cast sounds great (if not a bit young) except for Gosling and Welling. Welling may be just fine as a young Clark in Smallville, but he looks like a joke in a Superman suit (see any manip). If they can't get Routh, then at least get a guy who, again, looks like Super-MAN! I have mixed feelings about this one so far.

maybe this movie will resemble the justice league in the new season of TB. at least i think batman's the head guy in the JL in TB.

anyways..does anyone know for sure how this movie will be made? i heard from people that it will be all cgi like beowulf, and others that said only parts of it will be cgi.

in any case, i think jack brewer should be batman. he played adam west in "return to the batcave." i think he looked and sounded more like the BTAS batman than adam west.

Thats what everyone said about Keaton.....

and look how he turned out.

Welling is actually older than Routh.

again,
its not a matter of not being able to get Routh, they don't want Routh (not because he's a bad actor or became SR was bad) becuase, JL is a separate franchise from SR (as well as, BB,TDK) movieverse
they want to establish a different movieverse, altogether

as for welling, i am not a supporter of it, i am just not as against it as much as others, I like him, I think he could work, but, I don't care if he does it or not

he is mainly mentioned and supported, as he is an already existing alternate version of CK

I mean, it was hard enough, for them to find, wellings, and routh, they spend years looking for them, why start the search all over, when he is already there
just saying

but, i am all for searching, so, can we just get back to casting, instead of this stupid routh or wellings debate (which seem to find its way in to every superman or JL related thread)

oh wait, this is a batman thread, ummmm, well i foresaw, this whole, ryan as bat, thing, in a dream about a week before the rumor hit, so, ya, I was kinda confused by even my dream, so, when I heard the actually rumor
:wow:

I had him pegged for Wally West, but I'll be fine with him as Batman.

And Welling will not be Superman.:o:cmad:

I doubt you'll see bruce wayne so the most important aspect for me is the voice and the acting. size and bulk can be achieved by anyone with enough hours and help with a muscle suit.

Ok, just look at the face and imagine a short dark haircut. Ignore the body. It could work. And the actor is a great talent, no doubt about that.

And so, over to the body. Do people in here have the slightest idea of how fast one can pump up some muscles? Look what happende to Matt Damon after 6 months. Or what about Will Smith? That thin-tall man played freakin Ali, and he was far from skinny. Maybe I should find the skinny pictures of Bale, for crying out loud. You know what, I'm going to do just that. This was the guy who became a great Batman:

Give Gosling some muscles and it could work. He is a good actor and his face does resemble Bruce Wayne. He just needs to gain some pounds of pure muscle.

did you just posted the pic from bale from mechanist to explain us why gosling could work as batman?

is this a joke?

I think he posted it showing that how a person looks muscles wise is the last thing to look at for Batman. While acting should be the #1 priority. Gosling can act, and to say he can't be Batman is a little premature....

Why would it be a joke? He's displaying how relatively easy it is to pump up a "skinny" actor into a believable athletic physique. If you want a better example, that he also mentioned:

Gosling is a fantastic actor, and Bale doesn't look that much more than Batman, to be honest. In fact I kinda see a resemblance between them, in some shots.

I find it pretty ******ed when people post up unflattering pictures of Gosling, to try and prove a point. I can put up equally the same amount of Bale pictures that people would have laughed at, had I asked them, "do you see this guy as Batman?" back in '02.

Gosling looks nothing like Bruce Wayne. Maybe if kept the mask on...

Point being:

Gosling can be muscular with some months of training. So for those worried about him looking skinny, look what happened to people like Matt Damon and Will Smith (or Ryan Reynolds).

The body of Gosling will be muscular enought with a couple of months of training.

Umm...neither does Bale. What he had going for him was his intense eyes. Other than that, he looks nothing like the traditionally drawn Bruce Wayne.

I was talking about Gosling, not Bale.

I know.

But perhaps I've jumped the gun, I don't even know if you like Bale for Batman. My point was, that looks aren't the most important thing for this role, as showcased with the universal praise for Bale, despite not looking too much like the comic book counterpart.

As long as the actor can look like a billionaire playboy AND show a tortured soul with his eyes, then imo that's enough requirement to be considered for Bruce.

If the internet was properly up and running in 88' I can just imagine how the forums would be like....

"Michael Keaton as Batman? OMG, ARE ya ****in' KIDDIN ME!!!??! He is so skinny and he has CURLY HAIR!!!

DAMN YOU WB, I WILL NEVAH SEE A WB MOVIE AGAIN, FFS!!"?"?"

And in the 70's:

Christopher Reeve as SUPERMAN? Who the **** is that? What happened to Sylvester Stallone or Nick Nolte?!?! DAMN YOU WB! What? You say Brando turned down Sylvester?"? **** YOU BRANDO, your a LOUSY ACTOR and I AM NEVAH gonna se a BRANDO movie EVAH AGAIN FFS!!!"

(sorry for the caps, take it with a laugh ;) )

Edit: I Love Bale as Batman, don't get me wrong. Him, Reeve and Nicholson have portrayed the best within the live-action superheroes (or villain when it comes to Nicholson).

Better not see that comment again Mr Socko

well chances are he will keep his mask on, there's probly no time for bruce wayne

These comments kill me.

As an avid weightlifter, and a certified personal trainer (from back in my University days), I find it infuriating that people think it is possible to build a "batman-like" physique in just a couple months.

That's crazy.

A physique worthy of Batman, would require years of training as well as the right genetics.

I'm not saying Gosling can't eventually develop a passable (for film) physique. He would have to be truly commited and willing to train intensely for far more than a couple months.

I truly hate these muscle suits used nowadays by out of shape actors. Some people here may find them sufficent, but to me, they are pure crap.

Other heroes can rely on the yellow sun, magic rings, irradiated spider DNA or whatever. But, Batman's superpowers derive only from his mind and muscles. Take one away, and he's not Batman to me.

acting rather than physique is most important to me I'd rather see a good actor in a muscle suit than a poor actor with a buff body but that's just me. if as expected batman is going to be in a suit the whole time then as long as actor gets into resonable shape the muscle suit/armour is fine as long as it looks convicing. look at ron pearlman in hellboy, totally believable muscles.

acting is the be all and end all for me I've seen too many actors/actresses that look good but can't act to save their lives
