We are Amazons!! The Amazonians Casting Thread - Part 1

Granted we have discussed the casting of Queen Hippolyta, Artemis, Phillipus, Aleka and several other Amazons and support characters from the wonder-verse in other forums, however I would like to put all those great casting suggestions together here...so let's have it.

Should Wonder Woman's Amazons be based on the new 52 or the pre-flashpoint universe?

With the official casting of Gal Gadot (28 years old, 5' 9") as Wonder Woman:
-how old should the actress playing her mother Queen Hippolyta be?
-should Hippolyta have black hair or blonde?
-does the height of the Queen matter?

Will the Amazons make an appearance beyond non-speaking roles?

It's inevitable that Hippolyta will be cast, but who will be cast to play her:

I'm guessing that some sort of bot reposts the first post every new thread?

KillerWolf for Artemis.

Just give me that Eisenberg's wig and I can make it work!

:o

I hate to defend El Maybe but that rumor came from these boards because an actor on a podcast said that he auditioned for Wonder Woman and that Cate Blanchett was there. So this wasn't an El Maybe gaffe and I don't think it was a gaffe at all. We are all just trying to find out info about this film.

I can't believe I just defended El Maybe, I'm going to go take a shower.

If it comes from these boards, that just makes it funnier considering how often he mocks them. :o

That is actually funny.

Well I'm glad he put it out there because we now know that she isn't in the film and can move on. Of course he is going to dog us again because he obviously got the info from this forum so **** him in advance.

From what I heard, it wouldn't be the first time.

Spidey is right though, this doesn't seem to be one of those "scoops" ElMaybe simply pulls out of his ass, so the blame shouldn't fall on him. At least, not him alone.

What point are you trying to make Sam? You miss the 80's?

:o

Yeah, you better. :woot:

Say what? I saw that thng on twitter. Also, I might be able to jive with ANY type of cinema like Tarantino, but i was four or five when the Lord Cobain past away. I ain't ancient like C.Lee or Krypton. :oldrazz: :o

It was another time... Phones had cords. Saturday morning was for cartoons. And no one catered to nerds and their dollars. How times have changed.

I find it hard to believe Blanchett, at the point in her career, would still audition. She's a two-time Oscar winner, she can pick and choose roles at her leisure.

I didn't say anything about Blanchett auditioning, of course Blanchett doesn't audition anymore.

I too miss watching the powerpuff girls on Saturday mornings.

If she passed it, then she probably was offered the role. And being around the studio doesn't mean she was auditioning. She could be there to discuss.

That makes us about the same age then. Anyway, it's just that three things undoubtedly scream 80's to me - hairstyles similar to those in the pic you posted, yuppies with their huge cordless telephones and heroin. Lots and lots of heroin.

I think people here confuse reading for a part and auditioning. Yes, even Oscar winners need to read for parts, especially if other Oscar winners are in mind for the same role.

I agree that Blanchett was probably there to discuss the part with Patty Jenkins, to get a feel for the story and the movie, and whether she felt (or they felt) it was right for her. I'm sure she is open to collaboration, since she helped run a theatre company in Sydney for many years.
