I suspect it will do better OS but not quite as well as 1 domestically. I wouldn’t be surprised if it all evened out to about the same WW number. But it’s way too early for any real speculation.

At least there is huge margin on the domestic BO for it to finish short and still have a great number.

86k in the 19th weekend after a 53% drop. I don't think WW is getting to 413 million. WB are most likely not going to drag it over the line at this point.

According to Corpse at worldofkj, Wonder Woman has earned $ 12 mil. in Japan so far, now Box Office Mojo has given Japan numbers till 24 th Sep at $11.277 mil. So, it looks like they have not updated their worldwide numbers for some time. (BOM is still showing Overseas total at $408.8 mil.)

    If we add the $(12-11.277) mil = $ 0.723 mil to current world-wide collections then $(821.221 +0.723) mil = $ 821.944 mil.

It may have passed Spider Man's unadjusted total $821.708 mil and it may just reach $ 822 mil. But, maybe Corpse is using a different exchange rate.

The Foreign total was updated last Thursday. Boxofficemojo's per market totals are not directly linked to their overall Foreign totals. While their Japan number is still stuck at $11.277M, the overall Foreign total includes more than that (it should include about $11.8M from Japan).

OS number was just updated again, it's now at $409.0M. So $0.2M was added since the last update(which is also the amount it has made in Japan since then).

Worldwide total is now up to $821,438,665. It needs just $269,887 more to pass Spider-Man(2002). Getting so close now...

    Pure insanity the final number.

I can't help but imagine that if this movie had as little to no competition as BVS, Wonder Woman would have outgrossed the boys...maybe even getting close to a billion?

edit: BOM now has it at $821,601,000...didn't know it was still getting a few $.

People always overestimate the effect of competition.

And it came out in the summer, so competition was always going to be bigger than it was for a movie release in March. It's not like Wonder Woman faced very tough competition for a summer movie either. The summer was the lowest grossing summer season in over 10 years for a reason. And even very tough competition wouldn't have cost it something crazy like $100M.

If you switched Wonder Woman's release date with BvS's, Wonder Woman would probably have made less, because it would have lost the benefits on summer weekdays, which would cancel out(and outweigh) the benefits of the slightly weaker competition that BvS faced.

Agreed with all this. Competition is mainly a factor if a huge similar film opens on the same weekend or the weekend after. After that a lot of the money has already been made.

Will the double feature on the 16th add to the WW box office total? And if so, how much is it likely to add?

I'm not sure about that. Those double features are most likely to be relegated to Thursday night previews and the revenue generated goes to the new movie. So I don't think the double features are going to add anything to the final total of Diana's solo movie.

WW is only catching up with Spidey if WB does follow through with their Oscar re-release plan, WW will eventually cover the 81k difference (I think when the final total comes in the difference will be closer to 45k) and go past Spider-Man [2002] in world-wide figures to become the highest grossing comic book origin film.

    Wonder Woman now at $821, 647, 044 (worldwide), only 61.5 K behind Spider-Man ($821, 708, 551 ) unadjusted.

WB may release WW+JL combo in some select theaters, this allows them to add some amount to WW's Box Office.

Wow its been long time since i posted anything here, but since everyone else are pretty damn slow i'll take responsibility and report, that according to BOM WW was updated with another 100k from japanese market today and now sits at 821 million and 746 thousand dollars, effectively surpassing original Spider-Man movie by Sam Raimi as highest grossing superhero debut story!...She is now ranked second only next to Spider-Man Homecoming as highest grossing origin story, but that one is like third reboot so yeah...Other movies aside from Homecoming, that are ranked higher than WW's solo are either team-up movies or direct solo sequels...

Is that how it works for combos? They go back and add to the box office of old films?
