I like to see David Fincher or unknown director like Nolan.

Nobody knew who Nolan was until he was attached to Batman 5 (it was 5 then)

Except for anyone who had seen Memento or Insomnia.

It's not like Nolan came out of nowhere. Memento did, but after that it would be an outright shame not to know the name Christopher Nolan is you were a film geek.

If it was 1988, I'd say sure, let Miller have a crack at a Batman movie.

In 2008, I wouldn't even pay money to see it in theaters if I heard he had written the script or had anything to do with directing it.

The only director I could see picking up where Nolan left off is David Fincher. Jonah Nolan and Goyer better be the ones doing the story. This is probably the only way I could see the franchise still being in good hands.

Let's just leave Nolan's world. I'm not interested in a follow up in the same style.
BTW Nolan's films are not so realistic (see both movies endings), so why not go "Sin City" way?
Just a stand alone movie with no connection to the previous.
In the comics there are decades of different tones.
Serialized films from the same director are annoying.

Directed by Miller? No, thank you. Sin City style by a competent director? Why not, (sometime later)?

future one off batman beyond movie with flashbacks in that style, no problem for about 20 years down the line.

Never. This is the guy who'd like to see Stallone as Batman in a film adaptaion of TDKR.

Noland films are realistic and this is exactly what I didn't like about Batman Begins. You can't have a realistic Batman. TDK was indeed a little far off from the ideea of realism and that is another igredient that make it so good.

Now, a Batman movie done in a Sin City style sounds like a great idea, though I don't see this happening. I am curious who (how an when) will make the next Batman, after TDK insanely success.

Miller sucks as a director. He needs someone to reign him in when he is going off the deep end.

So if someone else to direct DKR and Miller was to be on set to make sure that the guy stayed with the story and didn't change much

But Miller directing?

The only Miller Batman I want to see is TDKR- without any Miller involvement.

Miller has really went down hill in the past 5 years

a miller movie just doesnt really interest me. i think it would be tough for it to appeal to the mass audience

Are you seriously saying Sin City was more realistic than Batman Begins and The Dark Knight?
BTW after you'll see The Spirit, you will change your mind.

No. Why? Because I've seen the trailer for the Spirit and I despise his writing style for the most part, save a few graphics.

Never! Another Batman movie AFTER Nolan, yes. Miller? Hell naw. We have Nolan right now, why would we downgrade?

No, thank you. I've seen all The Spirits trailers out there. I know how senile Miller is.

I meant it's pointless to put Batman in a realistic manner and then you spit off stupid endings ala Mission: Impossible.
So, better make a good looking artistic picture to push the "sense of wonder" than the "sense of crappyness".

I'm gonna wait till I see "The Spirit" before I judge Miller's capabilities as a director, although from what I've read he's gonna need to deflate that ego before he even thinks of touching a Batman script.
