Most reviewers give negative points regarding issues of the first series, the ones without being involved in K.L.H. I don't find the issue that way, they are more entertaining that the series they replaced (Marvel Team-Up)

The second volume is not required to be read, I think it's good fun read as well as the first volume

Probably stands for Kraven's Last Hunt, but the poster should have been clearer.

Damn, most Spidey readers usually get it immediately.
Yes, it's short for Kraven's Last Hunt

I thought that Web failed miserably in following the doorsteps to Marvel Team-Up... aside from a few good stories here & there... :o

Aloha,A
The Web started off with the Black costume Spider-Man, but went down hill from there. It was almost like a filler volume.

Spidey rules

It's been a while since I've read a Web, but from what I recall I enjoyed most of the books I read (except 113 with the mystery that was never solved). But I can definitely say it had great artwork by the hand of Alex Saviuk. Very clean, very consistent.

I like Web. It was goofy fun. Some great one-off stories. No classics like ASM and Spec, but so what? It beats the pants off some of the stories we're getting nowadays.

I also liked the anthology volume that came out (and was just cancelled again). Again, nothing revelatory, but some new Kaine and Ben Reilly stories for the first time since the clone-saga. Can't complain about that.

Nope... not even close... Web of Spider-Man, barring a VERY FEW gems... was a third rate Spider-Man book with lousy writers and mediocre artists...

Hey, you say Toh-MAH-to, I say To-MAY-to. :oldrazz:

Maybe the fact I read those stories when I was between the ages of 8 and 12 has something to do with my fond memories. Crappy stories can endear themselves to you, if you read them at a young age.

As for BND, I would say the same you said about Web. Some gems, mostly garbage. :yay:

(And there was nothing mediocre about Steven Butler's pencils on Web)

I remember when I first started collecting comics in 1993 that "Web of..." was always my favorite of the titles. Never really could place why, but I just loved it.

Am i the only one that like Web of Spider-Man vol.1?
Also, I have yet to find anybody that likes the Webbing Armour, besides myself...
I thought it was a great idea and showed Pete using his intellect in a very good way...

Peter David and Alex Saviuk worked together on one of the best Spider-Man stories IMO on that title, I really enjoy "Cult of Love", maybe some reason that it is the true first exposure to Spider-Man comics I had

It happens to me when it comes to Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends

The thread title suggests the answer to this question is..NO

Don't you mean the Spider-Armor from issue 100? I love that since the PS1 games, years later I read the issue

QFT, unfortunately it got destroyed in that issue

We usually agree with everything but not now. I think the Marvel Team-Up was good at most and the Web of Spider-Man good or sometimes really great.
As I remember, the Spectacular Spider-Man began with lame stories as well (Kraven, Lightmaster, etc). The first good story was the Carrion or with Daredevil when Spider-Man was blind, too. I really like the Spectacular series about from the Black Cat so from the #74.

There are some great stories in the Web of SM, too. The #8 with the Beyonder, #11-12 with Peter personal issues, 40-43 Cult of Love with Betty, 79-80 with Silvermane and Black Cat and the best: The name of the Rose.
About the #50 or 60 the stories with Chameleon was interesting and the aftermath of the Cosmic Spidey was pretty good, too.

Plus, I think Steven Butler was the greatest Spider-Man artist that time.

Web was very good to pretty good towards the end.

Web was considered the street level book, with a lot of Bugle work mixed in.

PPTSSM was the 'relationships Peter has book, w/ a little Bugle thrown in.

and Amazing was the flagship book where most major stories began or concluded.

I liked how the books had there own vibe, but the Spidey Meetings they had monthly allowed for all the books to tie together nicely and not step on each others toes. Continuity was also king then, even with 3 books going at the same time.

MTU was awesome. I've read almost every one, but Web of Spider-Man was also really good, better than the re-treaded, organic stuff from the last 10 years.

Loved Saviuk's art, & "Name Of The Rose" was an awesome story arc.

Saviuk's art is awesome, I wash it wasn't infected by the 90s art style
Name of the Rose was half good (chapters 1-3), half alright (4-6)

I recently picked up a few parts of Name of the Rose. It's not a bad arc from what I recall. In general Web of Spidey isn't a bad title, I mean, it's not mainstream in that it doesn't contain a lot of highlights (apart from some exceptions obviously), but it still shows its worth from what I've collected. Like many titles, it serves as that extra dose of Spidey that the hardcore who can't get enough want. It's not as good as Amazing, or Spectacular, but it still holds its own.

I remember in the early 90's, Amazing was the over-the-top fantasy series, Spectacular was drama, & Web was action.
