What are the worst comic book movies of all time?

DD was pretty awful and if there's a SH that deserves a reboot imo it's DD. Michael Clarke Duncan was the lone bright spot in that movie.

The theatrical cut isn't too bad, the director's cut patches enough issues to make it a good fun movie

Amazing Spider Man was bad to me because it didn't love up to the potential that it could have had. Garfield and Stone were tremendous actors in the film, but the script really let them down. What was the reason for changing Uncle Ben's death? What did the story gain from having the killer remain uncaught? Why where we promised in the trailers and the very beginning of the film that we would learn more about Peter's parents and yet we don't learn much about them at all. Why do we not get to spend more time with Peter and Connors bounding? I liked Amazing a lot but I think Rami's films were far more faithful to the character than the new film.

Recently I watched all the Superman films so I will add Steel and Supergirl to the list here.

How does this make TASM one of the worst of all times?

Howard the Duck. Those duck **** still haunt me to this day.

i went to see that myself when it cameout cause I was bored. empty theater, one of the worst movies I've ever seen lol

Spirit of Vengeance is much more fun than the original Ghost Rider.

The first one tries to be a standard superhero blockbuster and fails. The sequel at least realizes the weirdness of the concept, and is more of a supernatural action/chase movie.

I haven't seen some of the most maligned ones...like Elektra, Catwoman and Ghost Rider 2.

The worst, as far as I'm concerned, is The Spirit. Holy god, that thing is pure crap!

Elektra
Came out on my birthday and I wanted to see it. It was a dark day.

To answer
1. It's the ultimate origin, UB's death is the same as TASM's in Ultimate. Plus there is no MJ...
2.The trailers said "The Untold Story Begins" (hint: The truth is episodic)
3. Fair point, the villain wasn't bad but was a disappointment and the only real bad thing in the film.
4. I like Rami's first two aswell but the reboot was closer TBF.
Wow, every CBM movie as been mentioned... This site insists everything sucks.

Or people have different opinions :whatever:

I've seen my fav TDK come up 3 times. It's also regarded as the best yet people put it beside Electra and GR films... I hate IM3 but even I wouldn't say it's that level bad. People are exaggerating things

You wouldn't, others would. Some exaggerate, sure, but not every single person. If someone genuinely believes IM3 or TDK is one of the worst comic book movies of all time, then that's their prerogative.

I think the worse ones are Batman and Robin, Elektra, Spider-Man 3, Green Lantern, The Hulk (Ang Lee version), Steel, Superman 3, Catwoman, Fantastic Four rise of the silver surfer, Punisher (Lungren), Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance.

The rest i like a lot and hope to see more or much better versions of each of these movies.

DD, other than being a bad movie brings back bad memories of that opening weekend for me. I shudder to think.

Catwoman, Barb Wire and Supergirl

Here's the thing. I don't read comic books as much today as I did as a kid. Even then, I mostly stuck to most of the biggies (Superman, Batman, Spiderman, The Hulk, etc), thus some of the more obscure titles (The Watchmen, 300, etc) are relatively unknown to me. Even some of the bigger names (Dare Devil, Elektra, Green Lantern, etc) I would only read sporadically at best. So when I go to see a Comic Book Movie, often times it's with a relatively clean slate and little or no bias. So many of the movies listed here (The Watchmen, 300, Daredevil, etc) I watched and rather enjoyed. Others I went in with a certain amount of bias (Man Of Steel, Superman, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Ang Lee's Hulk, The Punisher, etc), and came out either loving them or hating them.

Many of the films I've seen listed here on this thread I don't feel deserve to be labled "Worst CBM Ever". I will admit that some of them (TASM, TDKR, Punisher 2004, etc) are over rated. But over rated doesn't always mean worst ever. Others might be enjoyable to small children, but looking back as adults we just kinda shake our heads and groan (Superman 3 being a prime example).

Some movies that I agree are belonging on the "Worst CBM List":

Batman & Robin (didn't even like it when it came out)
Catwoman (tried watching it, couldn't get through it. I did love Halle Barry in that Catwoman outfit though).
Jonah Hex (Never read a Jonah Hex comic, but I liked the casting so I tried watching it. Couldn't get through it. Bored the hell out of me)
Superman 3 (Liked it as a kid. As an adult? Not so much.)
Superman 4 (Didn't even like this one as a kid.)
Steel (Bad. Just, bad)
Captain America 1990 (Absolutely awful)
Elektra (Tried to watch it, couldn't get through it).

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head. I might edit my list later.

Here are a few I consider some of the worst comic movies:

Catwoman
Steel
Elektra
Tank Girl
Barb Wire
The Green Hornet
Supergirl

The Director's Cut of Daredevil didn't add anything special to the movie to me. Definitely doesn't improve it enough to be removed from the worst list.

DD is the Marvel character most deserving of a movie done properly. :(

Daredevil Director's cut is a better version of the two cut's. It shouldn't be in a worst CB list and there are many more worst CB films then this.

I don't believe for a moment they are the worst comic book movies of all time. I do honestly believe they are the worse that huge numbers of people think are great. I don't think TDK is as bad ( yes I dislike IM3 that much) but tons of people just worship it. so maybe that's worse. At least its more frustrating to have to hear about how no one can challenge the perfection as much as it happens.

Daredevil is the one movie EVER I liked the theatrical cut better than the director's cut. That being said I didn't think it was that bad.

The DD director's cut turned a mediocre movie into a really good movie, whoever edited that film was an idiot. That godawful Clooney/Schwarzenegger movie is the worst, BY FAR!! It is such a piece of garbage that I refuse to address it by name. It is a cinematic kick in the balls.

All of these:

Batman & Robin
Superman IV
Supergirl
Tank Girl
Catwoman
Elektra
Steel
Howard the Duck
Ghost Rider 2
Captain America (1990)
The Punisher (1989)
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
