What are your complaints? What would you do differently? *SPOILERS*

Minor complaint, but Cavil needs to shave that chest hair. Or at least, shave it enough so its not popping out of his suit.

Ha, this kept bugging me through the whole movie. I'm fine with him having hair on his chest but just trim it down a little so its not popping out of his suit lol

The only thing wrong with the movie is nothing! It's a fictional movie which doesn't need to be analyzed to death, as if that analysis would alter the movie as it is now or would make a difference anymore. The movie is done, it's out. It was made for the enjoyment of Superman fans, and as a fan, I think it's a great, marvellous, awesome movie! I loved it, and the negative reviewers didn't know what they were talking about or just wanted to look 'intelligent' with what they wrote.

I think it is a timely take on the Superman mythos, I congratulate them for casting Henry, and I think the movie succeeded in re-booting Superman. Henry Cavill is now Superman, as much as Christopher Reeve was Superman during his time. Today is a different time that requires a different vision, and Man Of Steel succeeded in re-invisioning Superman for our time. No movie is perfect, there can always be flaws found in any movie, so to put it under a microscope is a foolish waste of time and design to just ruin the moment for those who loved it. If you enjoyed it, great. If not, sorry about that.

Can't wait for the sequel...

You know what I would do? Come up with some way to embarrass the critics if they give the sequel film a bad review, like have Superman hang a critic on a tree or something like that.

Here's the real question. Why did it need to be terraformed in the first place? Other than some brief inconvenience the sensory over load they were much more powerful under earth's natural atmosphere. So why change it? Jor'el implied that his and Laura's fate was tied to Krypton and initially the suits also implied that they couldn't survive in earth's atmosphere, like Kal was special because of being born naturally. By the end of the film we see that's not remotely true. So why terraform it in the first place?

Zod's motivation in the entire movie (or at least in the Kryptonian portion) was to save Krypton by any means necessarily, when he realizes that he was unable to do so after seeing the planet's remains, he opted for a goal that brought back his nostalgic sense of Krypton. The problem is, how could he ever assimilate with humans? Especially with the hubris Kryptonians have that they're the more advanced race compared to humans. So in order to bring back Krypton, they resorted to taking control of Earth, and eliminating all unwanted populations, in essence Zod's motivations are similar to how colonialism worked in past history.

When Jor-El and Lara said that their fate is tied to Krypton, it's not because they wouldn't survive Earth's atmosphere (and frankly that doesn't make sense considering how much lighter Earth's atmosphere is compared to Krypton's, and the emergence of a young yellow sun). Instead, they say it because to uphold the sense of freedom that they want for Kal-El. Conversely, you could also interpret it as Jor-El and Lara sensing that their death alongside Krypton is their rightful punishment for breaking such a huge law and giving birth to a natural born baby.

Oh stop it, you know that Zack only makes shallow movies, even when deep thinkers and smart-comics men are behind his work? :P

HAHAHA!!! Oh my Lord! I thought I was the only one that was bothered by this! Haha..honestly why would the make up people or even Zack not want to pluck or pop those bad boys back in the suit? It was rather distracting to say the least...guy's a guy so it's expected to have chest hair but..DEYAM at least don't have him look like Doug Bootabi from 'Night at the Roxbury' all 'gino'd' up looking like he's two seconds away from bobbing his head, popping his collar and unsuccessfully trying to pick up some drunken club rat ...sheesh!

Also PLEASE tell me somebody noticed that interrogation scene where he ***GULPS*** a gigantic gulp like he was downing a can of soda or something...the swallowing sound was so jarring lol

^ Kal probably has super spit. And he's probably nervous, on behalf of others as well as himself. Also, the line about "I can see through the two-sided glass" is downright funny. Sure MOS might could use some more humor, but it's not all doom and gloom.

:hrt: this. . .100,000,000% agree,

:super:

I found one really big Plot hole in the movie that irritated me like hell (I love the movie though). OK when Zod warped way from Krypton The debris from the planet got sucked into the warp. I think they where trying to set up Kryptonite. Then when he came out of the warp the Kryptonian debris get scattered everywhere. Then Zod says after that scene that they warp to another planet and picked up the World engine. So now there is no way in hell the Kryptonite could make from another Solar system to ours.

kryptonite??? maybe the critics is superman's Kryptonite now. :D

Perhaps they weren't trying to set up/introduce Kryptonite?

Why did Zod ask for Lois to come up to the ship initially? I mean, that had me SO confused.

Clark could've totally saved his dad from the tornado and still not reveal his powers to anyone. In fact, the tornado is a PERFECT cover for his powers. Clark runs to his dad, covers him up. Tornado sucks them both up... everyone thinks they're dead... but they just land somewhere remote thanks to Clark's invulnerability.

they want the scene to be the father sacrifice for the son. get it?

Seriously though.....

...where do these folks plug in that TV? And what the hell would they be watching out there? Maybe Al Quaeda TV.

Didn't Snyder say that there will be no kryptonite in his movies?
Just not in this one.

I would have made the flashback scenes last longer. They didn't flow as well as they did in BB, where Goyer's script structure worked better. Each flashback in MOS seemed to exist only to feed us one piece of info, and they were just too short to make their full emotional impact.

For one, I would have moved at least the "I really wanted to hit him this time, Dad" flashback before the trucker jerk in the diner bit. Then you'd know exactly what Clark was reliving there as an adult. I thought that flashback came very late in the film.

Also, some of the visual/aural mirroring throughout the film was largely superficial and unnecessary. Thanks to Nolan and the serious veneer of TDK influencing me, I was picking them out of MOS. The thematic possibilities for repeating, "woman-lying-on-her-back-screaming-in-pain-while-a-man-is-crouched-over-them" are disturbing so I try not to think about that one too much. :oldrazz:

So you're apologizing to people who didn't enjoy it because they analyzed it too much and yet you're on an internet forum to stomp home your opinion? Yup, that's rational.

People have problems with the film. I've watched it three times with different people and the feedback is the same. Great film until the character development gives way to collateral damage and disaster porn.

It briefly resumes its character development along the way but still doesn't retain the shining qualities that set it on the road to a truly wonderful Superman film.

That's MY opinion and maybe that of others. If you don't like it and prefer demeaning people by saying they're posing to look intelligent, well tough ****.

Well they were observing and listening in on Earth so they were more than likely aware of Lois Lane knowing Kal El's secret identity and Zod wanted her for information.

LOL...i thought exactly the same thing when i saw the movie... HAHAHA

They should have had Jenny(Olsen) attempt to take pics during the Superman and Zod fight, and Perry have to pull her away from doing so.

What was the whole point of his "drifting" .... I missed it or was it not explained?

It wasn't explained at all. Why drift away from Kansas. Why would a farmboy from mid america go get a job Crab fishing in the Artic? Also the spaceship was found in Canada, I'm assuming as an hommage to Joseph Shuster the co-creator of Superman who was canadian, but was the bar Clark was working at in Canada too? That would be another weird place for him to drift too and I doubt he had a working Visa.
