What are your complaints? What would you do differently? *SPOILERS*

This isn't a thread to debate the points, but I have no idea what you're saying for 3/4 of what you wrote in response. And #2 has nothing to do with #3. You remember he saved the Oil Rig guys by opening the door and saying "hello." Secret not kept. I won't go further. :whatever:

Do they know who he is?

I would've opened the film with Clark on the boat going into Oil Rig save as the big opening action sequence.
Would've had all the 'origin' part the same' up to arriving in the Fortress. Then have Jor-El flashback for Krypton scenes leading up to Zod being inprisoned. This way we are learning about Krypton same time as Clark is.

Couldn't agree more. I feel like the only reason there was so much extensive material on Krypton was so that the studio can parade Russell Crowe around. Get that s*** out of the movie. This was supposed to see Clark's journey and we should be taking it with him. Instead we are reduced to spectators. We should be seeing the world through his eyes and discovering things as he does. That would have given them the entire first hour or so to develop the character and build towards the emotional impact of him first donning the cape and becoming Superman. That's when he discovers the secret of his origin. Then maybe in the sequel they could have given us a brief glimpse into Krypton's past and how it relates to the new threat facing Superman... most likely Brainiac.

I just don't think this movie made me feel what it must be like to be Superman. It showed me what it's like, but it didn't make me feel what it's like. I did not share in his pain or his triumph. I did not know how it felt to fly.

Oh, I almost forgot. THE PRIEST SCENE. I thought I had entered a Scary Movie parody of Superman for a moment.

Do they know who he is?

Did the people under the bridge?

Anyway, I agree that maybe moving the Krypton stuff to when Jor-El is giving his explanation in the FOS would've been better. He tells us the same story twice basically.

I was satisfied with pretty much everything I got from the film. It did what it needed to do, which was reinvent the character & leave the door wide open for sequels &/or a JLA film. Of course, there are a very few minor things I would change, but you can pick any film apart & do that. I give MOS a strong 8/8.5 out of 10. Speaking of ridiculous nitpicking, I remember a friend of mine talking about TDK. He said the scene where Batman was on the Batpod blowing the cars out of the way in the alley during the chase scene was something Batman wouldn't do b/c people could have been in the cars. When you're nitpicking to that extinct, you're way over analyzing. Thought the Pa Kent scene was completely fine. Not one single problem with it. I loved it. In fact, a large majority of the things people have a problem with didn't even cross my mind once while watching the film. I think to appease EVERY SINGLE idea, that film would've had to be a 10 episode HBO series or something. People sometimes literally want everything explained to them i.e. "they didn't even show what they did to Zod's body?" or "They should've showed them rebuilding Metropolis". For the sake of the thread, I thought Supes took alotta damage. Seemed like he was on his hands & knees half the film. And I can somewhat forgive that since it is an origin story.

- The End :)

That's how I would have done it ;)

As u can see all the scenes are there but just in a different sequence of order.

The movie was glib the critics we're right on that and it could have benefited from a few more humorous moments.

I'm not joking when i say i think TDKR had more humorous moments.

I sort of wish Clark/Superman had more to say, i almost feel like the silent quality to him was overplayed to the point where it made it look like the filmakers we're concerned with giving cavill anything big to work with acting wise.

-Jonathat kents death could have been handled way better
-The action could have been edited better, some of it was downright headache inducing
-Shannon wasn't fully utilized imo.
-The movie could have used some more moments of levity. Clark was just a pretty dour character. Not saying he should turn into Tony Stark but jeez, he felt so one note.

I was wondering, how many lines did Clark have inside the FoS after it landed on the hill?

If there's anything I would change, I'd work out the origin part of the story. This is something that could be quite jarring though. (I'd probably devote 90 minutes for origin story + highlights of Clark's life, and 60-90 minutes on the action side...that would be 3 hours overall).

Needed to see what happened to Zod's body.....would have been nice in an ending credit scene......Lexcorp or Cadmus being formed.

Hard to believe the govt isn't working on some protection after this......

How did Clark get his job with the Planet?

I still think this was a great movie! 8/10

Ha at first i just assumed lois pulled her weight there but on second thought did this clark even go to school? I mean like university education let alone journalism school?

Did he just fake his credentials? his previous work etc.

I hated that Lois figured out that Clark and Supes were the same this early. It ruins one of the aspects of their relationship that I really like

Once I get a copy of this movie I'm going to make my version MOS cut for my own private collection. Some scenes look out of place but I can fix that for my private viewing ;).

A few scenes that I would have added
– When Clark goes to save the oil rig I would have put a scene where he jumps off the fishing boat and swims at super speed reaping his shirt and part of his clothe off and then he climes the oil rig
– After the bar incident I would have loved to see Clark put the beat down on that guys truck instead of seen the truck already been found in that way

Once I re watch the film again I will see what else I would have added. But I loved the film. Superman is back!!!

1. no scenes with the Kents finding baby Kal
2. the suit wasn't explained. it was like "hey Kal you're from krypton, put this on"
3. The Priest scene should have had more meaningful dialogue. It was a throw away scene.
3. Zod SHOULD have killed those people to make what happened afterwards more impactful.
4. Zod's death was glossed over. What happens to his body? Who gets it? LexCorp? Does Kal bury it?

Personally I thought it would've been neat if Hardy's character was instead John Stewart. That way DC can introduce him and have him already be cool around aliens then do a spin off Green Lantern with him.

1. Lois managed to get around, not too bad, but it got borderline goofy.
2. Some bad dialogue.
3. Strange editing. I wasn't sure if Krypton got destroyed a day after Zod got imprisoned or 20 years later.
4. The flashbacks, they worked and made sense, but I feel I would like it more if it was in order.

They sentenced Zod and it really felt like 5 minutes later the planet exploded. I don't think they wanted it to feel that way, but it did.

1) I would have changed everything that lead up to Jonathan's death, the moment itself was emotional, but I would have made him go back to save people, Jonathan getting too caught up in his heroic actions to notice that it was too late to escape the tornado. I would have left the rest as it was.

2) I would have edited 5 minutes of constant fighting or other unnecessary long scenes like the one in which we see the kryptonian space ship being sent into the Phantom Zone at the beginning of the movie to make more time to the quiet moments between characters, more Kent Family bonding moments.

3) A short scene of Clark having a heartfelt dialogue with Martha or Lois about what he's feeling after killing Zod before that "I think he's kinda hot" scene was needed.

-The first flying scene I think was handled poorly. That should have been exciting like the Iron-man one or How to Train your Dragon. Should have been an iconic scene with memorable music to go with it so its etched in our brain. I was just sighing. Would have also been nice to get some kind of explanation as to how he actually flies. Maybe Jor El could have explained or asked.

-Hardly any actual harness crane work for the flying or taking off too. He doesn't have to CG sonic boom every time. --As much as I hate SR, Singers crew built a kick ass XYZ rope system for Routh to take off in. I suspected the flying would be all CG when there were hardly any cranes in the spy photos. Lazy!

-I HATED that the sentencing of Zod was followed immediatly by the destruction of Krypton. Eh, would have been nice to see the elders or people of Krypton react to the end of their world. That stuck with me as really odd. Reminded me of The Phantom Menace where Queen Amidala is ruling a planet of 30 children. "Are people are dying senator". What people!!?

-No presidential or government in the movie. Heck, Bane got the presidents attention in TDKR. And he just blew up some bridges. Zod turned Metropolis to salt.Where was Amanda Waller?

-Metropolis, again NO PERSONALITY. Why is it a movie like MysteryMen has a kick ass skyline with Blimps etc. Heres just another Vancouver/Syndy clone. Why not design a cool kind of Metropolis times square. Make the city a character like Astro City.

- To echoe most other people, Superman can be charming and badass. Just read All Star Superman. In my opinion a wonderful interpretation. Supermans super confident and pleasant to be around. And why wouldn't he be. Hes indestructable, and women want his gonads. He doesn't have to be a grumpy minmum wage sod.

Oh and, the first time he wears the suit, meh I didn't feel a thing. The trailer made it more emotional than how it actually was.

I would have shown the Superman suit being built. I mean they just have it ready even though Clark has been on the boat for like 2 minutes.

Faora would have tried to seduce Lois...........yep 10 minutes of seduction.

You do realize it's common sensical...? Do we really need to be spoonfed that Flight is one of his Yellow Sun Powers?

Better writer, more character development, better camerawork.
