it's a comic book movie...just like comics...there's always room for somehow bringing a character back.

and how is it not plausable that during the kiss she was too weak to follow through and passed out...cyclops wanders off...

it's really not that far fetched.

That's not question that is a comic book movie or not.

when you have no boundaries , not limits you have some bad comics like in the nineties imo.

this movies injected some limits , the moment you break it , it cease imo to be as interesting..

However, I thought that fog was evaporated water and that the entire area was dessimated. Still the writers of X4 can bring him back. IF there is an X4. The tombstone at the end was annoying...

When Jean touch Wolverine she started to look just like she did when she touch Cyclops and Wolverine is still alive. It does not mean she kill him.

why would they do this when they have no reason to think Cyclops was at the lake? So they did not look for him at all. Wolverine does not find out about Cyclops until Jean talks to him. She said she kill him.

Jean is also going back and forth from being Jean to the Phoenix! We all know the Phoenix is very bad. She could have just said that to hurt the X-Men.

anyone ever think that they could easily introduce the Sinister plotlines here. Since you never see Cyke's body he could have been knocked out and in walks Sinister. As we all know (hopefully) Sinister has been watchin Cyke ever since he gave him his powers. He kidnaps him and does **** to him. Hell this could even introduce Havok and easily Gambit since Gambit did errands for Sinister.

I did just watch the movie.

I don't think that Cyclops only had one pair of Eyeglasses or whatever you call them on him. He still had the ones he wore from the first two movies. What he had in this movie were a new sunglasses type. Not his old ones. I really don't think Cyclops would just throw them away.

So he can still come back if FOX wants him to.

Except, Wolvie doesn't tell Storm about cyke until they are back at the mansion. So he was the only one who knew cyclops was there.

I'm new here but i've been reading these posts in these forums since they started talking about making an X-men 3. I saw the movie last night and I thought it was overall a good movie. Certain things upset me but overall, cool stuff. Anyways, about the Cyclops being dead thing, Yes, it's the comic book world and that means no one's really dead. As far as questioning if Cyclops is actually dead or not, remember when Professer X was at Jean's house with Magneto before she demolecularized Xavier? Xavier actually said, you are out of control, you killed the man you love. Now, being as though Xavier, besides Phoenix, is the most powerful telepath, wouldn't he know if Scott was alive or not? I'm sure he wouldn't say that unless he knew it to be true. Of course, many things come out in this one about Xavier and you really learn things about him that are suprising, so he might have been lying to get Jean to listen.....who knows. I hope they start another trilogy and do it more justice and bring back Cyclops. He deserves a bigger part for his Character. That's just my two cents. sorry it's so long.

Ratner himself even said that, Jean die in the last movie and she was on the set the first day to make the movie or something like that. In this movie it never show what happened to him. She just turn black. What goes on in this movie and the way it was played out was just too open end to said he die. Ratner or whoever did this, so he could come back for another movie. I really think Cyclops will be in X4 if they make it.

Well Remember those leaked photos by a certain person starting with a "G". of the Head stone with Jean's and Cyclops names on them. Well i guess they where real. Also i think it can go both ways, Hes dead or he can somehow be brought back into the future film.

After just looking at this movie I would have to say that Cyclops is not dead, but alive.
Think about all this:


There is no evidence of his death is shown.

No body.

Why is Jean on the ground unconcious?


When Jean kill people in the movie, she does not fallout. At the lake Jean is knock out laying on the floor. So something else must have happend. Then some of the water is gone. If you watch the movie, something is not right about all of this.


Ratner or whoever can still bring Cyclops if there is a X4.

i am thinking that phoenix is still new, adjusting to her powers so she faints however, you are right, thep lace looked decimated, they really did leave a lot to interpretation but as far as im concerned, cyke is gone, killed not by phoenix but the politics of the studio

i was referring to a comment made that logan and storm did not know scott was at the lake. obviously they found his glasses, they knew he was there and the professor probably told them he was there and since it was alkali lake, its no surprise that scott is going there and they just didn't know what happened to him, hence he asked jean

Bryan Singer, why? since Cyke is a main X-character, Singer was doing the role for Cyke, only cameos for this saga.

Yeah everyone are saying this is Ratner´s Fault, but nobody is saying that Cyke was non-existent in the 2 previous movies.

X-MEN 1; Cyke was only a cameo for this movie.
X-MEN 2; Cyke was only, again, a cameo for this movie.
X-MEN 3; Cyke was only... you know.

So who´s the responsible of this: Singer or Ratner?

but yeah in that sense, singer built cyclops up to only have a smaller and smaller role
