What is the worst kind of nerd?

Nolanites are incredibly annoying & people who swoon on everything & anything Tom Cruise. :o

So basically just Maooz.

Do I smell a rivalry? :o

The pent up nerd rage in this thread is seething.

SEETHING I say!

Add the "have to quote every last sentence until the other person gets tired of responding,so yeah,I winned the argument" types.:oldrazz:
I get tired of those arguments easily so I usually quit to let them feel like they won.

Well, I think some posts here go against this thread's purpose

You know what else is the worst? Paper cuts...and Nazis.

We're the same age and he doesn't appeal to me at all. To my friends? Well... They're idiots lol.

Therefore you are also an idiot. :o

I don't care. They're awesome! :woot:

My friends treat those movies like masterpieces.

Same here.

When I first joined the Hype I remember someone saying that kind of internet arguing was "A young man's game." I really wish I could remember who it was.I'd quote them in my sig.:hehe:

But yeah,I ain't got the patience to beat a point into the ground over and over again these days.If I clearly made my point,I'm satisfied.

I'm not exactly old but I've been around long enough to realize it's usually pointless to go in circles arguing over whatever topic knowing it won't change anyone's mind.

So if it makes someone else feel better to "win" at internet arguing then I'll let them since I don't have anything to gain from it.

The only people arguing on the internet are really young people or really old people.

Yeah,I don't mean old in "age".I mean old in internet experience. That's why I waited until I had ten years of Message Board experience before joining the Hype.Had I joined this place, not knowing what I was in for ten years ago,I'd be battling it out every day to no end.:woot:

What if you argue just for the lulzy drama and reactions that result, but don't take it seriously. Is that okay?

You knew we only truly accept the matured and experienced poster in here. I don't know how all this riff-raff keeps coming in. We need our red leaders to clean out the gutters and send off these dandys that keep intruding.

If you go into that thread, you will not leave unscathed. This is your final warning.

Do you think that's possible? ;)

I do it almost every day. :oldrazz:

I only really care about politics and a few social issues when I'm arguing. When I argue about other things, like comics, bad TV shows and death-matches, it's mostly because it's fun.

EDIT: Oh, I see what you were trying to do now, you little monkey. Trying to argue with me about arguing. Have to come with bigger guns than that though! ;)

So for the people who have looked through that thread, where does that rate on the nerd rankings?

Meh. :o All kidding aside, it's not the worst thing in the world since it's self-directed, harmless nerdery. The worst nerdery is the kind that hurts others. To me the worst kind of nerds are the comic-shop owners who will make a kid half his age feel inferior over the comics he chooses to purchase. Not all comic-shop owners, or even the majority. But the ones who live up to the worst LCS stereotypes, like the guys who rip up comics they don't like, or snort derision and mutter snide comments at their paying customers are pretty much the scum of the Earth. People like them are also part of the reason the comic industry seems so hostile towards new fans as well.

hmm, no doubt really hardcore Batfans, Firefly fans who constantly rage that the show cancelled well after a decade, Nolanites(although that's kinda within the Batfan category)

I constantly hear people question, "Why did they cancel it!? It was such a good show!"
To which I answer, "Cause you didn't ever watch it! You didn't see it until six years after it had ended! Where was your fandom when we needed it!"
