What is the worst kind of nerd?

Hmmm...interesting question. There are so many different categories of "nerds" who can be soooo annoying.

The WORST "nerds" are Raider Fans! You know who you are and you know why I'm saying this.

The ones I dislike the most are film "nerds". These are the people who think a "good" film has to be emotionally resonant with a deep, depressing storyline that highlights the lows of life. Any other film that does not fit that description is not a good film. These nerds are the worst people to talk to because they're often times extremely pretentious.

The most dedicated nerds I have ever interacted with are Superman and Batman nerds. I think this is because there are a lot of incarnations of Supes and Bats over the last 20 years. However, Nolanites are the worse of the Bat nerds, and Superman fans who have been fans for 20+ years are the worse for that bunch (that does include me).

The happiest nerds are Harry Potter fans. I'm not really sure why this is.

An honorable mention should be given to LOTR/Tolkien nerds for always taking great pleasure in deriding any other fantasy work, and Star Wars nerds for being themselves.

I remember one guy in a blog (I think?) hating The Big Bang Theory, explaining in long paragraphs that he did because TBBT basically made fun of nerds. Like all sitcoms didn't make of fun of their main characters.

Sure, there's the Abrams divide which can get pretty obnoxious, but Trek fandom is so spread out over so many series and such a long period of time, and has such a huge emphasis on multiculturalism and tolerance and progressive egalitarian socialism, that Trek fans for the most part seem to be the most well adjusted with much more of a life outside of the fandom and the least shockingly racist.

I'm 100% okay with fantasy football in general. But the fact that most fantasy football players would likely turn around and make fun of someone for playing Dungeons and Dragons or similar tabletop games is nonsense.
