This is disturbingly humorous.
This is disturbingly humorous.
Everyone get out of my thread.
Being a part of a "check out this funny .gif", "no way dude, check out this much sweeter lol graphic", "let me forward you this funny jpeg/gif hybrid", "I go see movies like Bolt, now check out this funny Batman picture" thread was never my attention and disgusts. I feel like an old forty year old mutant giggling on over internet comedy. No thanks. Shut her down, mods.
This thread was fun, but then we found out he was serious. It makes me sad now.
How would you feel if you found out he was 14 years old, and can't vote anyway?

Ohhhhhh. See, I thought we were dealing with a jokester probably in his early 20s. Instead, it's a typical 14 year old who doesn't yet have a firm grasp on presidential elections.UltimateJustin isn't hiding his age. It says he was born Jan. 26, 1994, on his profile page.

Look, Justin, I know The Dark Knight was an amazing movie. However, its impact in this election was minimal at best. It was a great exploration of the characters within the story (especially Harvey), but incredibly light in its political commentary. Yes, part of its message is that one man can change things for the better, but it was so vague, it has about as much to do with the presidential election as it does with someone giving up smoking.
If there was any comic book movie made in the past few years that was heavy in its political message, it was V for Vendetta.
**freezes himself til 2012**
What role, if any, has The Dark Knight Returns played in Sarah Palin being elected president? What similarities between Selina Kyle and Palin are there? Is Sarah Palin and TDKR responsible for the Mayans prediction?????!?!!!?!?!?
..............What role did TDK play in obamas win.....are you *&*(^*(*^ joking me?
the same role that Wanted, Indy 4, Iron Man, Pineapple Express, TIH, and of course...W...![]()

Usually I'm not the kind of guy who thinks that outside events have too much influence on the Oscar race. I generally think it's about the movies, more or less in a vacuum. But I do think that this week's election-day results may have a profound effect on the Best Picture chances of two films. For starters, there's The Dark Knight. I thought the sequence involving the two ferries (in which a group of commuters and a group of convicts have the power to blow up each others' boats but don't) was a bit too reality-show-ish for my taste. But I know most viewers loved it. Either way, that part of the film speaks to the innate goodness of human behavior. And let's remember that Oscar ballots are due next January 12, just a week before Barack Obama is inaugurated. It's safe to say most Hollywood types will also see that event as an example of innate human goodness. All of this only helps The Dark Knight's chances, don't you think?
Over at Entertainment Weekly's Oscar blog, Dave Karger is claiming that "this week's election-day results may have a profound effect" on the best picture chances of ... "The Dark Knight"! I have to admit that I read his post four or five times, worried that I'd somehow missed the gag. But apparently Karger is serious, claiming that because part of the film "speaks to the innate goodness of human behavior" and because Oscar ballots are due Jan. 12, that "most Hollywood types" will be swayed to give awards to the picture. What is the magical significance of Jan. 12? you're probably asking.
IT'S JUST A WEEK BEFORE BARACK OBAMA'S INAUGURATION, YA DUMMY! Don't you think you'll be in a mood to reward innate human goodness right about then? And when you think of innate human goodness, don't you immediately summon up your favorite scenes from "The Dark Knight"? DON'T YA?
wait wait wait......COULD....FABLE 2......HAVE CAUSED THIS?!?
NOOOO! Its a conspiracy......videogames and movies unite!
OH ****!
