I have this Spidey figure. It's awesome, I wish they'd make more of them. Always wanted a Cap one.
this.Yes.
Reboot would be the last thing they want to do, as of now.
Just merge the Spidey universe with the MCU, for ****'s sake.
ASM1's story is fine.
But I'd be fine with a reboot if it was rebooted in the MCU. What I meant was that Sony creating yet another Spidey universe (I.E rebooting again) would be ridiculous.
ASM2 kinda non-existent story made be appreciate ASM1's story more, though, instead of growing sour on it.

no, i wouldn't be okay with another reboot, period. garfield is getting old but i don't want to see a new face taking on the role of peter parker anytime soon.
Agreed. I still have some issues with the movie, but it's still solid in my book.
What should they do with the current franchise? They should take ASM 1 & 2 and put it into a capsule and launch it into the sun. Wait twenty years and start fresh.
Spidey played a huge role in Civil War. He was a main/central character along with Captain America and Iron Man. That said...... .. they could restructure it and fill his role with someone else. But make no mistake....... it wouldn't have the same scope and gravitas as "Iron Man vs. Captain America, with Spider-Man in the middle".
In the midst of all the "Will Spidey join the MCU" hoopla, I actually forgot how much I had hated his role in Civil War back in the day. I always thought that revealing his identity to the public goes against everything that Spider-Man stands for. So much for responsibility when outing himself will throw all his loved ones into the spotlight, which comes with a nice side dish of mortal danger. He would have little-to-no control over who would be made a target.
Why should they dilute the quality of the current MCU by merging two crap stories into it?
Reboot the hell out of it, just open in media res with Pete's webslinging career already underway. There's no need to tell the origin again except in vague flashback and you avoid any mention of Sony's bungled-by-committee cash grabs. Win win.
Definitely, if it was just ASM1 I think Marvel wouldn't have too much problems integrating it, but with ASM2 I doubt Marvel would want it anywhere near the MCU. The complete wasting of Norman Osborn alone would be enough. The guy is Peter's greatest enemy and Sony kill him off without ever even being the Green Goblin.
TASM1 story was fine. I didn't mind Lizard, would have done other stuff myself but the overall story was fine. Not good or bad but fine.
TASM2 didn't even have a story.
Yes it did. You simply didn't like the story they were telling.
well I think the only other studio we may see making spiderman films is disney. sony's in a lot of trouble and it would be smart to instead give up spiderman, to work collaboratively with disney.Awesome.
Again, for Sony to reboot would be disaterous. I like Andrew as Spidey and Peter (in ASM1, at least). What I'm saying is that when the inevitable reboot comes, I'd like for it to be made by someone else than Sony.
Neither SM3 nor ASM2 was completely Sony's "fault" - mostly, it was simple incompetence on the directors', writers' and producers' part.
However, I still think it'd be interesting to see Spidey on another studio than Sony/Columbia.

Because it sucked.
That's different to saying no story.

- Release Director Cuts of TASM1 and TASM2.
- Restore all the deleted scenes that help the narrative.
- Recut the films overall.
- Insert Stark/ Avengers Tower into the shots that have the MetLife Building.
- Retcon the FBI agents in Aunt May's flashback into Shield agents.
- Give TASM2 a credits scene
- Reveal the foreign military agency Osborn was working with as Hydra
- Give Spidey a TV series
- Have him be in the roster for Avengers 3, which is rumored to have many of the founding members sit it out, until Avengers 4

It's not going to happen. Sony has their death grip on Spidey. The MCU is making money without him, there's no need for them to beg Sony for him.

I'd cancel Sinister Six and release ASM3 in 2016. Drop the whole parents storyline and ignore setting Sinister Six up for now. Adapt both the Alien Costume Saga and Kraven's Last Hunt into one movie. Use the space shuttle crash for the symbiote's origin. Introduce Brock and MJ. Villains are Chameleon and Kraven. Establish them being half-brothers and have them working together. Chameleon disguises as Spider-Man and frames him for various crimes. Brock writes an article for the Bugle claiming Spider-Man to be dangerous to the public. Kraven uses this as his opportunity to come to New York and hunt Spider-Man. Spider-Man exposes Chameleon and proves himself innocent, and Brock is fired from the Bugle. Kraven buries Spider-Man alive, but Spider-Man escapes and finds Kraven, beating him in a fit of rage before realizing that the symbiote is starting to take control and resisting the urge to kill Kraven. Spider-Man forcefully removes the symbiote in the tower of a church. Mid or post-credits scene shows Venom.
Who exactly are you responding to here? Or are you arguing withyourself?someone else?
Brab you're back!I feel like Sony would benefit more than Marvel in any situation that a Sony-verse spidey is integrated into the MCU.
No situation where both companies benefit equally.
Most likely is just Sony going alone, most probably failing.
I would love to see Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man in Civil War. Still dreaming of the post credit sequence in AoU featuring spidey.
'Tis a pipe dream
