Make Spider-Man 3 a 1 hour TV special and voila you get your closure. On to the next one! ;)

I've seen youtube videos like this and yeah, something like that would be cool for Gobby!

That's what I've mentioned before here as well. No closure, at this point, is completely abandoning the character and burying him further in the ground.

Even if they are going to let him in the MCU by some divine miracle, I want them to have either a fluid transition or solid ending. I personally do want him to eventually be back in the MCU, by the way, but I just don't want them to completely butcher what's left in this series.

I would understand if TASM2 had some kind of end to it that didn't indicate a sequel, but they've made it far too obvious already to completely back out on that altogether.

I don't think the series needs closure. Why should Sony throw more money after bad money? Just cut a deal with Marvel Studios to handle the creative end. Let Sony just fund it and distribute it.

There you go! :yay:

if you are calling TASM2 box office bad money then yeah $700 mil is something sony should be crying about, i mean thats just horrible

I don't think it needs closure either. The two films basically told the story they wanted to tell i,e. The Story of Peter's parents, his first true love and loss, the fall of the Osborns, and a Spiderman in the age of cell phones, twitter, and facebook, and a Spiderman closer to the comics with quips, webshooters, and a science wiz.

If you cut the Harry setting up the S6 scene, I guess it COULD work as a conclusion.

Miles took the words right out of my mouth. If Marvel decides to take control of the S6 or finds a way to somehow make the Harry/Goblin and Fiers scene irrelevant, I'm all for it.

If the movie ended with Gwen's death and Peter visiting her grave, I could see that as an end to the series. The assumption would be that Harry/Goblin died and Peter would go on to start college, possibly in the MCU.

As it stands now, S6 is still scheduled for November 2016, and TASM3 for 2018, plus the other spinoffs. The rumors, while perhaps rooted in truth, have yet to be substantiated by anyone more than a month later. I'm just wondering when the hell Sony is announcing something concrete. Also, even if Spidey does end up in the MCU, that still doesn't guarantee we'll be getting great movies. CA: TWS was the most I've enjoyed a solo Avengers movie since the first Iron Man, and a lot of the films, while certainly not horrible, have been inconsistent.

Most people would be with you on that. I'd love to see an IM or GOTG quality Spider-Man origin movie done by the MCU later on down the road. I wonder which villain they'd use seeing as how most of them are already "used" lol.

I very much like GG from the Raimi films but he wasn't spot on as say an MCU spin would be; same for Spidey.

Were they to reboot, which I'm very much in favor of instead of ASM3 (albeit a few years from now), I think I'd like to see someone different and GG later on to create more of an impact. Perhaps reboot with Doc Ock?

One major benefit of Spidey being with Marvel is that they won't be forced to release Spidey related material every few years for the rest of time to keep the rights even when they think he needs a rest.

True. Seeing him interact with MCU characters would be awesome too. But let's refrain from putting all our eggs in one basket with this.

People can show YouTube clips of Goblin facial animatronics but what would be the REASON the goblin would wear the purple and green outfit? Please don't say 'well, because', or 'he's crazy'. There has to be a reason for things right down to clothing. The inspiration would have to come from 'somewhere' because the audience in general don't buy comics and have to buy into the concept and if they don't they'll check out of the movie.

For the record, I thought the FC yellow and blue outfits were better than the black leather but at least there was an explanation for the yellow and blues.

The longer they have no comment, the more I hope a deal is in the works with Marvel Studios.

Oh, I wouldn't want them to start with Goblin either if they reboot. Go with someone like the Vulture (follow what Spectacular did). Save Goblin & Ock til later.

but what would be the REASON the goblin would wear the purple and green outfit?

Norman's favorite colors?

There is nothing more terrifying than a crazy man in purple speedos with a purse chucking exploding pumpkins at you.

The whole why the colors thing should be left professional writers. They get paid to come up with ****.

Norman's favorite colors?

That was the original reason in the comics and that's good enough for me. He was just like "My favorite color's green so that's what I'll be!" Chemicals make you go damn crazy, I guess. :awesome:

For reasons it would be easy enough to have an old childrens book or something with a GG like character in it that Norman could see and be inspired by.

The Goblin has a hat that elongated at the back, the outfit is purple and green, he has Ali Baba turn up shoes and leather satchel that holds his weapons. Good luck with coming up with a plausible reason for that get up.

How would something like that be woven into a story?

That's it, I'm going to Sony Pictures headquarters and talking to someone.

The 'real' Green Goblin would look stupid in live action and what possible plausible explanation could you give for wearing the purple and green outfit? Oh, just because.

I could come up with a good reason for the Mysterio outfit (effects character), Kraven outfit (jungle hunter), Vulture outfit (mechanical wings and suit) but the Goblin outfit whilst good on paper would look stupid on the big screen.
Then why does the concept art always look better than the final product?

Yeah because use look what they did with the mandarin :o
:whatever: That wasn't the real Mandarin.. the real one exist in the MCU, but he has yet to be introduced.

Most of the villains looks in the MCU have been pretty true to the comics: Red Skull, Ronan, Loki, Thanos, Ultron, Winter Soldier just to name a few.

I would just introduce the Goblin getup as Harry’s Halloween costume. Maybe Midtown High or ESU is holding a costume contest, and Harry spends a lot of money on a really impressive cloaked green goblin costume. Norman and Harry have had a really tumultuous relationship, and perhaps something really awful happens between them on Halloween. For example, Harry defies Norman, and Norman (at his wits end) becomes physically abusive. Harry wearing this costume on Halloween is Norman’s first “encounter” with the Goblin. Shortly after taking a serum or experimenting with chemicals at Oscorp, Norman begins having these hallucinations of the same cloaked goblin figure berating him or coaxing him into acting on the violent thoughts that he’s been having lately. When Norman finally submits to these destructive thoughts, he wears the goblin mask and remnants of the torn and muddied purple cloak over a black (or dark green) bodysuit that was designed to be worn with his glider. The costume not only becomes a physical manifestation of Norman’s insanity and a physical representation of the evil that lies within all of us, but also symbolizes Norman and Harry’s complex relationship. Since Harry was seen wearing the mask first, you could even pull a TSSM, and have the audience (and Peter) believe for a while that the Green Goblin is really Harry instead of Norman.

I'm waiting for neil to 'plausibly explain' the ridiculous helmet Gobby wore in the first Raimi movie. Military applications my ass.
