What would it take for you to cancel Marvel books?

nothing better than a hollow apology. didnt want one though

Then you'll just have to go with, "Too bad, I said it anyway." :(

Simple. Ruin the concept and I'm gone. Avengers? Gone. Spider-Man? Gone.

That isn't to say I'll never come back to them, because I have. After Ben took over for Peter I was gone. Eventually, I came back when I sensed all was back on track.

I'd drop Marvel comics if they started getting seriously carried away with things.

Like in Amazing Spider-Man the new writer, of the best selling book "Crackheads, and the battle they must endure" begins the story arc where Peter Parker becomes addicted to crack, and to fuel his addiction he becomes a pimp and has to smack his *****es up with web fluid. Yeah, then I'd drop Spider-Man like a bad habit.

Or if Marvel fired Ed Brubaker for no good reason.

Or if they fired Brian Vaughn for no good reason.

Or if they cancelled Runaways.

Or if Joe Quesada said something along the lines of "Comic books are becoming a thing of the past and we need to start moving the business forward and make everything digital". Then I'd drop Marvel and not look back.

But I mean...killing MJ? If you are going to disown a company over a ficitional character, who isn't even REALLY that interesting other than being Spider-Man's wife...well, until recently...that's your decision but Marvel could SERIOUSLY and TOTALLY screw things up a lot worse than people make it out to be.

I mean...an unmasking? Is that so bad compared to making a character a crack head or a pimp or, as Peter David said, a serial rapist? Yeah, it could be like 1,000,000 times worse. But it'd definitely take something that's utterly and completely ridiculous for me to drop ALL Marvel titles.

Just because you may not like what their doing with your *insert favorite Marvel character here* doesn't mean that every single book in the company is horrible. Wake up, open your eyes, and see what everybody is talking about...and then take new chances if that's what needs to be done.

The whole killing MJ is pissing me off, a couple of months back he said outright, were not killing off MJ, now it, I cant confrim or deny anything. Son of a *****.

It is so obvious that Quesada will kill off Mary Jane just to end the Spider-Man/Mary Jane marriage. That along with the iminent Reed and Sue divorce will piss me off.

Way to contradict yourself. Spidey is just a fictional character, why drop his books if he's a crackhead?

In actual response to this thread, as a whole Marvel wuld have to do soemthing really stupid from getteing me to drop all marvel titles. Like Turn Daredevil into a Jason Todd Octupus monster. Other than that, I dont see myself dropping Marvel anytime soon.

:down

SIAT is saying that killing off MJ isnt as bad as ruining SPider-Man and making him a crackhead because believe it or not, Spidey can survive without MJ.

I didn't contradict myself.

And that's basically what the point was. He got it, I guess you couldn't because I always have to be wrong and you have to be right, huh? :word:

If people were banned for negativity, the Hype would be down to about 20 members, and half of them wouldn't even be talking about comics. :o

Sad thing is, it's true :(

I don't see how it's sad. Criticism's where most of the good discussions come from anyway.

yeah weird.

For me to cancel Marvel. Bendis would have to write every book. Ughh. That's actually giving me the creeps.

But he can survive being a crackhead? Errrr...

And no, in my book, that IS just as bad.
