The Amazing Spider-Man 2 what would you want in a spiderman film?

i would also want uncle ben to be important. infact, if we get a director's cut of the second movie i want a few references of that. i also want this movie to feel less like an ad and more like a passionate movie. i mean with the deleted scenes and pre visualizations of the first movie marc webb clearly wanted to make the film feel more like na film and with the score and tone it helps it feel more like a film rather than a comic book film. i don't want it to be exactly like that in the third film but that right there was an example of passion. the same goes with the raimi films, winter soldier, and even days of future past.

since we're getting a sinister six movie, which villain do you want first? i know rhino will be there but we all know with his IQ he would hold the entire movie so who do you want? mysterio or kraven?

I loved ASM2 but in the next movie the narrative needs to be tighter. In the next movie I want a stronger plot structure. A leads to B. B Leads to C.

That is what the next Spider-Man story structure needs. A plot line that ORGANICALLY moves the characters along.
Have a story idea and stick to that idea, everything should serve the story and if it doesn't serve the story, cut it.

 exactly

How about an actual, proper storyline for once, and not an endless series of sub-plots and sub-sub-plots?

You could very well argue that every Spider-Man film has more-or-less the same storyline. While the X-Men are traveling into the past, the Avengers have Gods and WWII heroes, and Superman is fighting a veteran Batman, Spidey is on his fifth film of 'bad guy given superpowers by science gone wrong and attacking New York'.

Let's have the Sin-Eater, let's have gang wars, Kraven's Last Hunt (or any hunt), the Kingpin, Spider-Woman, Ezekiel and Morlun....the series desperately needs new stuff.

In addition, Mr Webb, please go back to the digitally shot, stunt-based style of your first movie and not the bright CGI fest of the sequel.

Yeah, I'd be interesting to see Webb's vision completely void of any studio interference.

Amazing 2 has Avi Arad's fingerprints all over it.

I would bet good money it was his idea to go back to the Raimi-style suit.

I'm conflicted in this regard as I like the dark palete and dark suit and practicle swinging AND I like the bright palete and bright suit and CG swinging. I honestly can't say which style I prefer.

Hm...

I don't think I'd like for them to return to digital. Film looks better to me, almost all the time.

I would however love for them to ease up on the CGI and have a little more practical stunts.

I like both, I like the gritty realism of the first one and I like the colourful comic booky look of the sequel. I've even printed out blu ray cover to reflect the tones of the two movies. ASM has a darker muted pallet an ASM2 has a much brighter colourful pallet.

I ave to say I love both color pallets. Marc webb really does great with colors and textures imo. I loved both movies film styles and especially how he does the costume on film. The colors always pop and eyes come to life

"what would you want in a spiderman film?" Not the direction the filmmakers went in with The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire back for a proper Spider-man 4.

sam raimi for spidey for but do not include tobey. please use andrew.

but seriously sony, don't interfere with goddard and webb. you do need to keep the rights and earn money right? so please let goddard and his crew and webb and his crew do their own thing.

I don't want Raimi back for Spider-Man. We've seen his vision of the character. I wouldn't mind if he came on as a consultant of some sort.

Well, we also saw Singer's vision for the X-Men well over a decade ago. His return gave us what's quite possibly the best one yet, and it's not as though it's a carbon copy of his previous entries, either.

Say what you want about Raimi, but at the very least, he's a known quantity with a better track record than what we have now.

For what it's worth, I don't think he'd ever return, but I'm not averse to the idea.

singer returned since the x-men series was never a reboot but just had some continuity errors and still has to this day.

it would be impossible to bring raimi back.

It wouldn't be impossible to bring him back. It's not like he can never direct a Spider-Man movie again. I personally don't think he would come back to the franchise. Maybe as a producer or something.

Well, the guy is still breathing, so I wouldn't go so far as to say impossible, but as for the rest of those details, that stuff is neither here nor there. Let's not forget that we're talking about a guy who was directly involved in a reboot of the cult classic that kick-started his career. It's not completely unheard of, as unlikely as it may be.

If Sean Connery could come back to Bond (in a remake of Thunderball, no less), especially after he declared that he'd never play the character again, I'd say that there's at least a snowball's chance in Hell. Not holding my breath, though.

then there could be hope. raimi may never got to make the spiderman 3 and 4 that he wanted but if sony makes this franchise successful ciritcally and financially then hopefully raimi can bring his voice to andrew garfield

Would much rather have seen Vaughn return to be honest. His version of X-Men (IMHO) blows Singer's out of the water.

Also we've seen Raimi's version. If Webb has to be moved on then it would be time for someone new and fresh.

Well, in the case of those two, I could flip a coin; they both made two of the better films in that franchise IMO.

There is something about Singer's directorial style that rubs me the wrong way and all of that went away with FC and returned with DoFP (so it's not the script) although I enjoyed the movie (DoFP) I liked it about as much as Singer's other 2 efforts which is to say 'meh' I can take or leave his 3 movies.

Wouldn't ever happen but Vaughn would be perfect for Spidey but no A list director is going to take on Spidey two movies into a trilogy.

I'm just saying I would take another Raimi & Tobey film over another Webb & Garfield film.

If I'm really at liberty to say what I want in a Spider-man movie; it's Marvel Studios.

Marvel studios don't always make great films, see Iron Man 2 and Thor 2.

TASM was probably better than both of those.

Nah. I've never had issue with IM2. IM3 would be a stronger argument IMO. That movie was hugely disappointing.

I probably did enjoy ASM2 better than Thor 2. But don't get me wrong, I don't think any of those films are bad (see GL or DD for bad), I just think Marvel Studios would make Spider-man shine like he should given it's their true property.

I see it like this:

Marvel: "We have this great character, let's make a great film!"
Sony: "We have this popular character, let's make money."

The Amazing Spider-Man series needs to do its own thing. Now that this cinematic universe formula has worked for Marvel, every other comic book movie and studio is going to try to do the same, DC with Justice League, this series, and we even see this with X-Men. Unless Spider-Man has an unforced reason to build a universe, then they shouldn't. For example, the X-Men franchise had a perfect piece to the puzzle, having made an original trilogy fan base, as well as forming a new "past" cast with First Class. Being creative and basing Days of Future Past off the famous story arc in the comics, the Days of Future Past movie felt not rushed and not forced, but a great ensemble. The first Amazing Spider-Man had set a great tone (not necessarily meaning the grittiness and darkness but overall direction of story and characters) , and it is clear that the studio is trying to take it in a whole other direction, and after seeing the sequel, it isn't working, as it seems forced and instead of letting the characters tell the story, the story is telling the characters. This is why I like the X-Men series (aside from origins) and the Dark Knight trilogy. Both are their own, and evolved in their own, not necessarily worrying about what other studios were doing.

Again, this is just my opinion, not saying this is all a fact.
