Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap. Great documentary

The Shadow
10/10

Yeah, I said it, Alec Baldwin's Shadow is a great film :o

Yes, when it first came out. It's your standard Die Hard knock off.
And 500+ action movies
Bruce Willis has more facial expression than Steven Seagal
I like Under Siege tbh

To hell with what others think, this was a fun film. It's another Philip K. Dick story where Nic Cage could see into the future but only two minutes ahead. The scenes where they play around with the idea was really fun and clever with the editing. Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel were both pretty good.

In the PKD story Cage's character has gold skin. I wish they'd kept that!

It'll never match up to the first time but it's still pretty darned good.

One of my favorite horror flicks. I love this film more than I should but damned if it hasn't aged a lot better than I expected. There's a bit of 80's cheese but not as much as you'd think and the whole thing still holds up pretty well overall. Tim Daly is solid, Kelly Preston is beautiful, Rick Rossovich is Rick Rossovich, and the great Basil Pouledouris contributes a subtle, but creepy and memorable electronic score.

Recommended if you're a fan of 80's horror and/or films with a focus on witchcraft and satanic cults.

I've read that John Travolta and Kelly Preston bought the US rights to this just so they could bury it. I don't know if that accurate but it's only had a region 4 dvd release so there might be something to it. It's streaming everywhere though. You can watch it here (also on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime) fr'ex, so if burying the film was their evil plan it didn't work out so well, except to stymie people who'd like to give them money for a proper dvd release.

This has just about the most hilarious opening shot I've ever seen. :lmao: I swear, I could not stop laughing for two straight minutes afterwards.

I could see it being written in a novel with all the Cage-isms. lol

Paranormal Activity 2 on tv last night.

I don't get what the big deal is. I haven't seen any of the other movies in the series, so maybe the first one was better, but this one wasn't scary. Usually a horror movie can make me jump at least.

PA isn't about jump scares. Like most found footage it's about slow build-up, tension and dread. Doesn't work for everyone though.
