Daniel Craig's excellent first Bond movie, and not only did it breathe some much-needed life back into the franchise after the dregs of the Brosnan era, but it also happens to be one of the best Bond films to date. Perhaps even THE best? Well... let's not get carried away. I'm aware a lot of people seem to consider Casino Royale a contender for the greatest of all time Bond film, and maybe it really is that good, but I wouldn't place it atop my personal list. Don't get me wrong, I think it's really, really good and I do like it quite a bit, I just don't quite like it quite as much as everyone else. I'm not going to be too harsh on it though. I fully admit that whatever downsides I see in the film have everything to do with my personal distaste of certain elements of the movie, and not the execution of those elements.

4/5

Godzilla (2014)

Awesome. Strong build up, amazing finish. Maybe they did the tease/cut away thing a little more than necessary, but no biggie.

I don't really buy complaints about Lt. Kick Ass being uninteresting, his father died, first hand I know what that does to you and it's pretty realistic to be quiet.

I interpreted Aaron Taylor-Johnson's "quiet" demeanor as someone who's just going through the motions to hold it together. He's obviously been under duress before, given his military experience; he's had to hold it together before. That's why I bought him as a lead.

(I still wish Bryan Cranston had been around a lot longer though. The movie was trying to draw parallels between the father's life and the son's, but that dynamic was left underdeveloped because of Cranston's departure.)

Exactly. Inside you're trying to keep **** together.

Likewise Cranston was amazing, I do wish he stayed around.

Maleficent - Pretty solid, I liked it a ton more than I thought i would. Angelina Jolie does a great job as Maleficent. The tons is a little erratic and the theme gets lost in that inconsistency. That being said I really enjoyed it :) There are some major changes I would make but its fun.

Some of us still haven't seen Godzilla yet so maybe keep the spoilers to a minimum?

Crash (2005) it starts of well, but quickly turns into a mess :whatever: Thandie Newton gave a great performance tho

Godzilla (2014)

Very underrated (based on room mate bashing this movie and praising pacific rim)
I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10.

TV: Transformers: Dark Of the Moon

Good special effects, mediocre everything else. Still a step up from the terrible Revenge of the Fallen.

Theater: Malificient

Angelina Jolie's performance raises this movie from meh to pretty enjoyable. Would have liked her character to have been a little darker before the inevitable redemption arc.
