Lost River (2015)

I simultaneously liked this and hated it. I think Ryan Gosling has the potential to be a far more interesting film maker than he is an actor, but he clearly lives up his own ass. It's a really well made film, but the script didn't warrant the kind of Refn/Argento/Lynch approach he was going for. It was too simple.

There is an amazing Batman Returns reference though, so kudos.

Scientists are performing a time travel experiment in the south west American desert. Off road motorcyclist Lyle Swann (Fred Ward) drives right through the middle of it and winds up in 1876. Outlaws (Coyote, Masur, and Walter) want his "machine", local bad girl and hottie( Bauer) wants his body, tough Sheriff (Jones) wants the outlaws....so shootouts and chases ensue.
