Office Christmas Party.

Had to turn my brain off, and watch something lighthearted after waking up to the news of c the Vegas shooting. This fit the bill

The Void

This still holds up as one of my favorite horror films this year.

Day 1: The Void - 9/10 (Rewatch)

Idk why, but I had the strange urge to watch this abomination. It's just as hilarious as I remember. :funny:

St. Vincent

Found it to be a predictable sentimental drama. A few lines of humor.

The Unsuspected (1947)

Interesting story that combines elements of mystery, horror and noir. There are some pretty good performances throughout and the thrills are exciting and suspenseful. Claude Rains plays the host of a murder mystery radio program and the film opens with his secretary being murdered then posed as a suicide. When his rich niece who was thought dead in a shipwreck returns alive she doesn't remember the man who claims to be her husband. After the suicide is exposed as murder the killer starts to eliminate anyone who might expose him, eventually planning to murder his own niece in order to solely inherit her fortune.

47 Meters Down

It's killer shark movie that doesn't have enough material to support a movie. Mandy Moore and Claire Holt have acted before yet here it feels like they're both acting for the first time. Once it gets going and they are trapped underwater, it does get interesting, but after a while it feels like they're just filling up time. This movie also feels like it was made for the Discovery channel, but was put into theaters the last minute. Overall, it's just meh.

Can't get over how enjoyable this is...I literally went in with the lowest of expectations and ended up enjoying this more than most of the series. Seeing it a few more times has made me like the film even more, & I think it's a satisfying prequel to the original film.

This film, on the other hand...total letdown. But, then again, after the mess that was part two I wasn't really expecting much. Neither this film nor the second have any of the magic of the first & whereas the first movie has a pretty solid story and good execution, these follow-ups seemed more like they were trying to up the shock value than to offer something truly substantial. And what we get is buckets of blood with no substance infused.

I tried watching 47 Meters Down, couldn't get through it. I kept falling asleep.

Same, I had to rewatch the last 20 minutes because I fell asleep.

How bad was it? I wonder if the original concept for it would have been better. Too bad...it's a guilty pleasure.

It was pretty bad...the ending was terrible and the acting in here was easily the worst of the three. You're right, it is a guilty pleasure and was fairly enjoyable but it could've been so much better. Jonathan Breck was still great as the Creeper, it's just a shame all of the elements around him don't match up.
