The Blackcoat's Daughter

It's a atmospheric horror film that is a bit of a slow burn, but it delivers. Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Boynton are the two main actresses in the movie and they did a pretty good job acting wise. Emma Roberts gets less screen time, but she also delivers a good performance. What I really liked about this movie besides the visuals was the non linear narrative which I didn't really pick up until later in the movie. I thought it was an interesting way to freshen up a standard horror film. Overall, it's a worth watching if you are already into A24 style movies.

Temple

For a movie that's 1 hour and 20 minutes long this felt so long and tedious and unoriginal. This had an interesting set up which with a more experienced director could easily made it fascinating to watch. It's pretty obvious this was done on cheap budget and for the most part, it shows. However, I do appreciate them filming the movie in Tokyo, but it's not really well shot. As for the acting, there's nothing to write home about. It actually got annoying as it went along considering the bad love triangle plot. The horror doesn't really kick in until it gets to the last 15 minutes. Overall, it's a movie that you probably will see in the $2 movie bin at Wal-Mart.

The Princess Bride
This is a lot of fun, and I confess that it's my first time seeing it now that it's 30 years old.

Batman vs Two-Face
Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwhether in one movie. Don't skip it.

Time Bandits (1981)

Watched this for the first time on TCM On Demand and thought it was quite good. I'm kind of jealous of anyone who saw it for the first time as a kid. The story is interesting and fun, the casting is great and it was directed by Monty Python alumni Terry Gilliam.

ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ (1979)
QUALITY =8.5/10
JOY = 9.5/10

This is magnificent. Maybe I'm a bit biased cause I love prison stories, and am slowly growing greater fondness of Clint Eastwood as both actor and director. I also like a biopics as long as they interest me, though they always make a few changes to the story, this one changed the name of that guy named West to Charley Butt.

Chopping Mall

I had fun with it. It's a shame it took me this long to check this out. For a movie that came out in the mid 80s, this is a perfect B movie. In retrospect, this is pretty much Robocop meets Friday the 13th which takes place in a mall. The stereotypical characters were fun and dat Barbara Crampton did a fine job. Overall, it's a great movie for horror fans who love camp.

The Dark Tower

I haven't read the books so I had no idea about the plot or any of the characters going into this. To quickly sum it up - painfully generic, hollow and completely forgettable.

Not even bothering with a rating.

Discopath.

Wonderful loveletter to sleazy horror like Maniac and vintage Brian DePalma movies, lol.
