Trick 'R Treat

My new Halloween tradition to watch every year. It's a great Halloween and horror film that everyone needs to see. It's up there with the classics of horror like Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, and The Thing.

Dracula (1931) 9.5/10

dracula-1931.jpg

Bela Lugosi was fantastic in his portrayal of Dracula. It may be considered hammy by today's standards , but his performance still holds up for me. Also great job by some of the supporting cast such a Helsing (Edward Van Sloan) and Renfield( Dwight Frye). I love the atmosphere and of course it set the stage for later horror films. I felt the ending was a bit anti-climatic though.

2/10. Some cool visuals but mostly boring, terribly paced, and an awful ending to boot.

IN DARKNESS

Gripping and moving true story of of Leopold Socha, a sewer worker in the Nazi-occupied Polish city of Lwów
who hid jews in the sewer system.

I give it a -10 out of 10

I give this one a -16 out of 10 (only reason I watched them at all is because they were being shown on TV. John Carpenter's versions are 10000% superior in every way).

I give it a solid 7 out of 10. Considering the budget made for TV movies have to deal with, not to mention the limitations of content they're allowed to show (especially for a movie made in 1990), I think they did a pretty good job.

I give it an 8 out of 10. Not quite as good as the first 2, but a very solid outing none the less.

Crazy crazy movie

Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows

Men in Black 3, the begining was weak but the time travel was fun.

I watched this last night. It's a really good horror anthology. The twists are good and I like how it all comes together. It's definitely a modern classic for the genre. Also I had no idea Bryan Singer produced and one of the writers on X-men 2 was the writer/director until I looked at some of the special features last night.

The best Bond movie since decades. I really loved it. The 140 min passed very quickly. Awesome.

Frankenstein 10/10

Classic. It's one of my favorite films. Although It's unfortunate there are a couple major contrivances. At least they aren't too noticeable.
