Justice League What's your Justice League Hype Level at?

Justice League comes out in a little over two weeks from now, and before early reactions start hitting in what could be next week I wanted to gauge everyone's hype level for JL.

Solid 9. Easily. Will probably reach Cavill mustache levels when I sit in that theater seat Friday the 17th.

My BVS hype levels where very high, but after the movie my hype for JL was tempered. The actors all from what i'm seeing fit the characters really well. And I'm usually a fan of Snyder action pieces.

The trailers have been pretty effective in showing me "this isn't BVS", and the the more straightforward story will play more to Snyder's strengths.

Not very high to be honest, which is why I haven't been around this board much. Frankly, I'm ready for the post-Snyder DCEU.

Very low. Repeated mentions of bad editing have raised concerns, especially since bad editing has been a rampant problem in the DCEU, and a big contribution as to why the films are poorly received.

I'm expecting another Suicide Squad situation. A poorly put together film, but has enough fun factor in it that it'll find it's audience.

I don't expect much from the plot, story, pace, action, etc, just wanna see WW.

Last time, for BVS I had an 8/10 hype. MOS was frustrating, but salvagable..and David Goyer being scrapped and replaced with Chris Terrio implied that we'd get exceptional dialog and better story ideas. Then the film came out. I didn't hate it (and still don't) but it's probably the most disappointing superhero movie for DC fans since, well, ever.

Justice League looks like a reaction..but one that seems design to cater to every complaint about DOJ.

The plot looks bland, the cinematography is strangely unsatisfying, the CGI looks like it was made a decade ago, the quips feel shoehorned in (so far),
and Batman feels affected and forced.

So that leaves us with Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. I'm holding out for Cyborg. I'm legit excited to see WW and Aquaman, but the Flash seems like he's designed to be annoying, and unfortunately succeeds.

All these complaints and I'm still holding out that it will be a nice 300-esque spectacle, combining a grand sense of myth and a reasonable amount of character with jawdropping action sequences.

But TBH..a truly great Justice League movie would feel reminiscent of the "high myth" movies like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. I don't have that feeling when I watch these trailers..just "this might be cool."

My hype level is like at an 7 or 8 (perhaps generously a 9? )

The idea of a JL movie at the time of announcement seemed like this amazing out of this world event. A 10++ I guess because it was still JL1 and JL2 and it was before BvS. And it was to encompass all the expectations I (we) had for the JL finally coming to the big screen.

Now it seems like it could be a problematic beginning, still part of a universe still finding its footing. And franchises or "sagas" don't necessarily have it all worked out from the get-go, but build up and evolve as they go on.

But it will still be a thrill to see it. I am sure as a DC fan I will just geek out over all the references. How that will transfer over to the general audiences though, I am not sure.

There was something pure about the initial idea of a JL movie. But it was probably a bit too naive and idealistic. Maybe even on the part of Zack Snyder and WB.

But I can imagine still getting incredibly hyped for a spectacular JL movie in the 2020s...maybe even a few of them, as they get bigger and better.

But I would not complain if this first movie blows me away though

My hype for JL is significantly lower than BvS and I just rated my excitement at a 9 so you could just imagine where I was at with BvS. I mean, I don't think I blinked once during that entire 3 years of waiting from MoS-BvS. When Supes ripped open the Batmobile doors and tossed them in the SDCC trailer, pee trickled out.

STOKED for JL, but you can just feel the chaos coming lol. Just got to take it in stride and do this rendezvous!
