The Amazing Spider-Man When and how should Gwen Stacy die? - Part 1

If they pretty much confirmed Gwen dying for TASM2 (more or less confirmed) and if Electro is gonna be the villain, then I really don't see how she can be killed by the Green Goblin, like it was in the comics.

I have to admit, I preffer if she dies @ the hands of GG, he was among the deadliest villains Spidey ever fought against! I'm not about staying 100% true to the comics, but I'd be damn disappointed if she is killed by Electro... this is one story that I would like them to stay true to and show how big the GG treat is to SM, by taking out his love, among other things.

Though not going to lie...it'd be pretty epic to see Spidey battle Electro to the point of exhaustion, only to have to turn around and take down Goblin.

But like I said in my other post, they need to build up Notman. In the comics, Norman captured Gwen Stacy for the sole purpose of getting revenge against Peter. He blamed Peter for his company going under, Harry's addiction to LSD, and a lot of other things. In no way, no matter how great of a writer, you can't convey all those elements of revenge in a single film.

They really need to expand the story to two parts. That's the only way I think it will be done justice.
 
With the company going under, couldn't you do public pressure because of the Lizard situation? They're going to know Connors was working for Oscorp.

Osborn knows about Peter one would think due to that after credits scene. CCTV or whatever if they bring that into it would show Peter helped Connors with the serum.

Or you could go a different way, Osborn kidnaps Gwen because the serum isn't sustainable for him or what not. Wants Peter to help come up with something better for him, Peter refuses or whatever. Not so true to source material but if they press ahead with killing Gwen off at the end of ASM2.

Either way I'm sure there's going to be some major foregrounding!

This is an interesting post. Come to think about it, I don't think Webb would actually have GG kill Gwen without any reason so I'd well believe that they have something planned (that's if GG really does kill Gwen) rather than GG just being crazy and unstable.
 
Its funny because she never actually gave an answer. Not that I'd expect her to. ;)

I always like hearing when the cast members say they've read the script. Emma said the script is good in that interview, though its hard to understand what else she says there.

I think because we're generally expecting a trilogy before we see new actors possibly come in, I think TASM2 is probably the best time to do the death of Gwen storyline. Not simply because I'd like to see a Peter/MJ romance in TASM3, but because I'd really hate for these series of films to end with that storyline.

I try not too look at the comments on the SHH! website anymore since they are usually ridiculous or offensive in some way.
 
I usually just look at the article itself, but I can't help but look at those comments sometimes. lol

Woah, hang on there for a second. I agree with you that most of the people on that page are mindless haters that leave incredibly stupid comments but their stupidity is no excuse for everyone else to throw rational arguments out the window. Although I heavily disagree with them, I would never tell someone to simply not watch something if they don't like it. That is a very flawed way of thinking IMO. How are we supposed to improve on things, provide valid criticism, and look at both the pros and cons of a movie if we don't watch it and ignore it completely just because we don't like it? "Don't like, don't watch" is an argument used by people that generally like something and refuse to listen to anyone else that doesn't like that something. It has become a more mature and polite way of saying "Lalalalala! I'm not listening!"

Not trying to pick on you specifically. I've seen this argument being used over and over again by many people not just with the reboot but with everything so I felt like addressing it.

Haha I see what you mean. I suppose just the ones who are mindlessly offensive in their comments. I agree with you re. valid criticism. But those who seem so angry about something and what not, I don't get why they put themselves through it!

But very fair point.
 
So do you guys think she is going to die in TASM2, and by the hands of the Goblin?

I'm still worried that Electro will be the one to throw her off the bridge...

I still don't think she's going to die in the 2nd movie... especially at the hands of Electro

Or Maybe Electro isn't the main villain... I feel like Marc Webb and Writers have something in store for us 0_o
 
Either she dies in TASM2 and gets killer by Electro, or Green Goblin at the end of the film. OR she gets killed in TASM3 by the Goblin.
 
I do think we're going to be surprised in some shape or way. If they don't kill Gwen off in the second I hope we get 4 movies, Peter would still be stinging from that in the third. Be nice to end things on a happier note. We'll see I guess. As long as TASM2 is something special - that's the main thing! (As long as that doesn't involve Electro killing Gwen ;) )
 
If Electro did kill Gwen and it was done really well, I'd still be happy with the movie. Though many fans would be so outraged... huge uproars!
 
If it was Electro I think the main thing is they put their own stamp on it. Guy with powers of electricity going everywhere? People could get hit.

But if they did how Gwen is killed by Gobby, but with Electro - that'd be wrong imo.
