Secret and Academy for me. I'm hoping Constrictor & Diamondback are either on Secret or remain in Academy/Initiative.

They actually said Spider-Man & Wolverine were on the main Avengers, too. JRJR said he was doing a regular title with Spidey in it and there was a picture of them together, Spidey swinging from Thor's hammer.

Well, since I'm a fan of Webhead, looks like I'll be getting Avengers & New Avengers.
This will be me, following both Spidy and Wolverine it seems. At least until I can decide which book will be better and then I will whittle it down to just one. I like both these guys on a team rather than just solo. :) I don't know enough about the other Avenger books to decide yet on them.

Ultimately, I'll be getting the Spidey books, and probably the one Slott writes...

I hope Bendis can pull off something truly Avengers-worthy. He hasn't done it yet, but here's hoping.

I'll be getting Avengers proper, and New too, again. JRJR and the big 3 is too good to pass up, even with Bendy. And New, well, just because I'm a sucker I guess. Now with Thing announced, I'm hoping for some good, Spidey-Cage-Thing-Logan scenes. They all have a good chemistry in pairs, and all 4 of them should be great together.

I don't need 4 Avengers books, but I'll probably check out Secret. Like Corpy, I'm not a fan of covert-ops Avengers, But Bru is cool, so I'll give it a looksee.

I passed on Initiative, but if they give Academy to Slott and Hank Pym is calling the shots, I'll give that a shot too. I'll probably give them all an arc to impress me, and them start cutting from there. Knowing myself the way I do, I'll probably end up keeping the Bendis books though.

Where's Hank Pym going to end up in all of this? I really like the place he's in now as true hero and "scientist supreme"!?! I want to see him as an Avenger more than a talking gorilla or Luke Cage's wife.

No word on Pym yet. I'm guessing he'll be heading up the new Avengers Academy though.

Will be checking out the first arc of Avengers. I'm hoping that Bendis is able to finally deliver on the big super heroics. Having Kang doesn't hurt either. Also, be looking at Secret Avengers but I'm hoping that is not one of those bull**** "proactive" hero groups, willing to do whatever it takes type story.

I have no interest in Avengers Academy or Pet Avengers...

I'll be getting SECRET AVENGERS, written by Ed Brubaker with art by Mike Deodato, and the rumored "AVENGERS ACADEMY", written by Christos Gage with art by Mike McKone.

I tried Bendis written Avengers for 2-4 years. I'm not biting again.

1. Avengers, skipping. The idea of the big three reuniting and bringing the Avengers 'back to their roots' does appeal to me, but frankly speaking, I don't like Bendis. Never really enjoyed his Avenger work and his overall style of storytelling that kind of stuff. If I heard a lot of positive feedback, I may trade wait on it, so I'll keep an open mind.

2. Secret Avengers, maybe. Not sure how I feel about a 'secret' Avengers team. The creative interests me. Probably another trade wait to wait for reception.

3. Avengers Academy/Initiative, not sure. Not too sure, it will all depend on the team and creative.

4. New Avengers, Pass. No interest whatsoever.

thor iron man and buckycap means ill get avengers,,but i do wanna see steve back in his cap jimjams.

secret avengers ill see about but again wasnt a fan of furys crew before.

new avengers..the line up seems funny..it does feel avengery to me.ill try it as i like spidey and wolvie...but jewel seems odd shes just had a baby for gods sake and thing belongs with the FF only really for me.

if i were gonna do a street level avengers then i'd have had..
spiderman
wolverine
daredevil
captain america/winter soldier/new name - bucky
cage
iron fist

plus bring back the invaders - but make it good this time!!

I like the lineup and Immonen. :(

I have to see the full line ups first...however, Bendis' book, and the Initiative/Academy have my curiousuity piqued already.

I'm also mildly interested in the new Thunderbolts, featuring Luke Cage. That looks like it has some potential as well...

I'm leaning mostly towards Secret and Academy. The adjectiveless Avengers is a maybe mainly for the reuniting of the "big three" as they say. New, I'm not interested in really at all.

Oh great, I know which two I'll be buying then. Bastard. :o

Well it's not my fault you lack taste. :o Bendis has been hit and miss his entire time on the Avengers books, I ain't gonna waste my money, especially these days, on stuff that I don't care that much for. Wanker. :o

Oh whatever, you know I dislike Bendis too, but unfortunately you HAVE to buy his books if you want to know what's going on in the Marvel Universe.

That's where the phrase "skimming in the store" comes in handy. :o

Or torrenting the hell out of that mother****er, which depending on the full roster for New, I'll probably do.

Probably none. As much as I'd like to read Secret Avengers just for the creative team and maybe Avengers because of the characters, I'm not very likely to buy the monthly issues for $4 books without backup stories. Academy sounds good, but I doubt it will win out over other books I'm thinking about picking up after Mighty Avengers ends.

I'm going to at least buy them all for the first story or two to see where it leads and how it all plays out. But if I even begin to lose interest in any of them then I'm dropping it.

While I will read SECRET and ACADEMY, I do agree with the angle that $4 books are not the future. While all comics have diminishing returns, I've seen drops of some 20-30% within 6-12 months for even TOP sellers like NEW AVENGERS since they became $3.99. Surely whatever cash money is gained by the increased prices has been canceled out by diminished sales by now. Marvel seems to quietly admit that by relaunching NEW AVENGERS, a title that not long ago was selling about 90k an issue. DC has seemed to admit that many of their $3.99 books, even with back-up's, did not do well and is backing off for quite a few titles, like BOOSTER GOLD.

Some people laugh at VERTIGO for offering debut issues at $1, since if sales don't sustain, the series actually never absorbs that loss. But what they don't get is that a debut issue's point is to try to either entice people to try out the rest, or to buy it in collected form. DC has embraced the trade market and has a bigger presence in bookstores; Marvel still sells trades through Diamond exclusively, which is kind of like hiring a professional wrestler to do your tax return.

Comics have been "recession proof" in the past by being cheap. The last time unemployment was this bad, comics were about $1.25 on average. Of course, $1.25 twenty years ago is more like $2.75 now (at least) with inflation, but still. When it is very likely, especially in New York, when 1 out of every 10 comic fans might be unemployed, $3.99 comics are not sustainable. They allowed Marvel to escape 2009 mostly unscratched while magazines and newspapers have fallen. That's fine. But such a strategy is not sustainable long term. The question is whether anyone in editorial knows that, or if blind, unadulterated greed will blind their judgment, just like blind greed has convinced the electronics and media industry that the best thing people want to do during a recession is spend $200-$500 on a Blu Ray machine and have to upgrade their ENTIRE movie collection for the second time within 15 years.

Of course, if more people actually spent their money while using daffy things like "perspective" or "common sense", debt wouldn't be as high and the economy might be better. But what do I know? I'm not even middle management. :o

Constrictor and Diamondback have really stolen the show in Avengers: The Initiative. I'm hoping their story continues somewhere, too.

I'm thinking Pym goes where Slott goes. Slott's put a lot of work into the guy over the past year, and he hasn't given any indication that he's done with Pym yet. Which is great. :)
